It should read about the same as when you touch your meter probes together. It sounds like you have bad connection. It is just simple connection from point A to point BNever stop learning

How about the readings on all other pins of that IC against the test point where the black probe is? Any of them showing steady 1.4 Ohms?

Re: Rca led50b45rq
All of the other pins showed a solid 1 to the left (out of range).
Edit - i just checked again. Now I'm getting a steady 1.2 from the test point to pin 12, and a steady 1.3 from resistor 000 to pin 12. I was using the red probe with a safety pin attached for more precision, but apparently that was causing a discrepancy.Last edited by x_orange90_x; 04-04-2017, 02:07 AM.Comment

Re: Rca led50b45rq
If i do in fact have the correct voltage there when i check again, what direction would that lead us in?
Btw, would you like me to check ALL of the pins voltages again, or just pin 12?Comment

Re: Rca led50b45rq
At this point recheck the VCC again with good probes to see what you have. I need to look at the spec sheet of the IC to see what is the startup Voltage is, LOW shutdown Voltage, High shutdown, etc.Never stop learning

Re: Rca led50b45rq
Just finished checking PIN 12 voltage again. With the set in Standby i got around .5v, with it switched on the highest reading i got was 1.01v with a steady decline. However, i unplugged the LEDs and switched it ON again and got 12.95v steady. With the LEDs plugged in, the voltage drop started to occur after the screen flashed and went black.
I have attached the Datasheet for the L6599AD IC for you.Attached FilesComment

The PFC IC is the one on the top right, it is 8-pin SMD IC.
It seems like that SMPS IC is trying to run but since you do not have the PFC Boosted Voltage from the PFCC section so it goes into shutdown.Never stop learning

yes just be carefull your probes dont slip etc as dont want too cause more dameage whilst your testing the ic you might as well take all the pin readings in one go.Comment

Re: Rca led50b45rq
Can you verify that PS-ON Voltage did not drop out when the VCC drops down to 0?
You are getting the same VCC Voltage drops out on the SMPS IC too, same power supply is used to supply the VCC to both ICs which is generated by the AUX winding of the standby power supply transformer that I drew up the diagram in the picture for you to trace out the Voltages.Last edited by budm; 04-05-2017, 06:58 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Rca led50b45rq
PS-ON remains a constant 3.54v regardless of the VCC drop out. Also, with the LEDs unplugged, PS-ON is a constant 4.89v.Comment

Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power... -
by AleMontiHi everyone,
I'm trying to troubleshoot and repair this old LG OLED curved TV, model 55EG910V.
I did some basic troubleshooting and reviewed most related posts here, but I wasn't able to isolate the issue.
The TV shut itself off during playback and never came back to life - the standby light remains off. My dad claims that it has happened a few times in the past but the issue resolved itself after some time. Not this one.
After checking the basics I did the following:- I measured all voltages and as expected the only active supply is the 3.5V standby. It

I got the tv in spring 2024. At that time it started, then ran 60 sec and poweroff. Seemed like reboot issue. I didn't have time and room to check it in summer so I plugged it in and now the standby light is on. I press button on remote, standby light goes off and tries to start?. No picture or backlight on LCD. I thought about removing diodes like in this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...sung-qled-q60r... -
by jasonbay13picked up a tv and when the power is plugged, the standby light flashes real quick then goes off. of 3.3, 12, 24v is all there but i couldnt find any 5v on the back-end board. ON/OFF is low, which it seems is what turns on the backlight so i removed the wire at the back-end board and put a 10k resistor to the 3.3v, which when plugged in brings on the backlight for a split second and also a blue light "LED1" on the inverter board, which goes off after a short time.
am i missing something to bring on the backlight or is the inverter/ccfl gone bad? would that cause the inverter board...12-01-2023, 09:55 PM -
by NicktronicHey Everyone,
So I've got this Samsung and the reported issue is that when powered on the backlight comes on, but no picture, no sound, it will flicker, the standby light will flash red twice and repeat the whole process...each loop lasts about 15 seconds.
I've googled the issue and understand it is likely a panel/driver board issue, but was hoping the "tape method" could be successful. Before I did that though, I disconnected the left LVDS cable and powered the TV on. This time I got sound, no picture and the two blink standby light stopped. Did the same...03-27-2023, 07:01 PM - Loading...
