You're literally just wiring it in series with Vs, so cut the Vs wire on the harness and put it in series between the cut wires. Make sure to break all Vs wires, no point having any connected to bypass the bulb.

I think in most cases, your want lower wattage bulbs as opposed to higher wattage. Something like two 40 watts in series would be good as the higher resistance will keep the current down and likely save components. Chandelier bulbs at 25 watts would be even better.

More or less true, but it's also important that the bulb is big enough to allow the board to be tested. A 60 or 100W bulb is reasonable, as it allows enough current to drive the panel from the Z-sus, if only weakly with a maldischarged image, but still it shows partial functionality.

thanks for the info. So whats the easiest way to connect 2 bulbs in series? Less wires the better.

I found this on eBay. Its a 200W 230V bulb. Will this work to test the VS?

go to your local home depot, get two sockets and join the wires for a series connection, screw in the two bulbs and your done... probably for a total of $10.

I will go with two lamps in series so you can easily use two lamps with the same Wattage, I.E two 100W, or when working on lower power units then you can use two 75W, etc.

ok. This may seem like a stupid question, but how do I connect them in series correctly. Using google I see contradictory info. There is the hot(black wire) ,white(neutral) and ground(green) for polarized plug. How do I connect these wires to the second bulb?

In the same way as you'd make any series circuit...by wiring neutral of one bulb to live of the other. So the bulbs are electrically "one after another" so to speak.

Thats what I thought. Thanks for the reply tom.

So when I want to test the VS line, I just connect the neutral and hot wire into the VS line after removing the VS from the connector. I already have a connector with the VS line wires cut, so I can connect the bulb wires in.

Yep, but all other wires (GND, 5V, 15V, Va, etc.) need to be connected as usual.

                          Re: Dim Bulb Tester

OK I am now ready to test the TV with my dim build tester. The XSUS board keeps shorting out and blowing a bunch of IGBTs, the VS line shorts out. To prevent blowing the parts again after repair, I am doing the following:

I cut the VS wires going from the YSUS to the XSUS. Now I want to put my two 70W bulbs in series with the VS line. I will connect wires from both bulbs into the connector with the VS lines cut. One bulb wire will be on VS line from power supply and the other will be connected to the connector for VS line on XSUS board.
Can someone look and tell me if I am doing this right?

So the bulbs are connected wrong? I have the neutral of the first bulb going to the live of the second bulb, is that not in series?

Can someone explain to me what to do? I have never done this before.

I replaced the bulb only on my Toshiba DLP The bulb is a TB-25. This is the first time I've done a bulb only replacement. Supposedly there is a timer module that needs to be re-calibrated or reset. I don't know where the module is located. I see some vendors selling the bulb with the housing stating module included which leads me to think the module is located inside the enclosure the bulb mounts in, but I didn't see it. Maybe it's inside the plug attached to the bulb?

Anyway - I am seeking information on how to reset this so called module so that the lamp will operate. Apparently...

I saw a vid with LED tester on this TV and it had 130v for 1 good line which is 24 LEDs does that mean it needs around 5.5v per LED?

I have a LUMIMAN Smart Bulb that suddenly stopped lighting one day. The bulb is still detected in the app, but won't light. I've probed around and nothing seems to look off with any of the diodes, caps or resistors. The Bluetooth/Wi-Fi module seems to be working as it's still detected in the app. I even tried deleting and re-pairing the bulb (it didn't light, but I was still able to follow the pairing instructions), it re-paired fine, but still no light.

In diode mode, the LEDs all light up when probed so I'm guessing this means the LEDs themselves are OK. I was expecting...

                                  Hello
I have power adaptor(220V/input, 12V 1.2A/output) which has symptom of fluctuating output DC voltage between 11.5V-12.2V.
So I opened its plastic case and when switched it on, I heard constant tik tik sound from inside its PCB.
I measured DC voltage between negative and positive pin of the largest capacitor(400v 10uf) and it was measured contant 300V.
I also measured ESR value of all capacitors and I noticed that one of capacitor(KMG 16v 470uf), which located in the secondary side, have high ESR value(10 ohm),So I replaced it with same specification NXH capacitor....

This is another battery testing machine that needs to be modified for the cooling fans because these are noisy but not as bad as one of the other battery testing machines that I had modified recently because of it being too noisy

The battery testing machine is going to get two temperatures controlled cooling fans like one I put in the other battery testing machine I just have to remove the temperature sensor and relocate the temperature sensor to one of the heat sinks and put one on the other heat sink so the fan speed can be controlled by temperature
