Calling it a day is exactly what I did. Everything is put back together.

    $20 TV + $40ish in parts+ the learning experience = A whole lotta fun.

I will let this thread die now.

Thanks again guys...I really appreciate all the guidance.

        Re: Phillips 47PFL3603D/F7 No Power

I never could find a schematic for that PSU board.
I ended up buying a repair kit from shopjimmy which included the board locations of the parts, and tested and replaced only the components that were bad.

sorry I couldn't be of more help.
maybe someone more experienced can point you to where you can find a schematic.

Does anyone know where I could find a replacement?
          The original is marked Pilkor, 384MKP, 220n J 630v, wk 08 43.
Digikey chat said they didn't have any box shaped ones but did have a axial lead http://www.digikey.com/product-searc...=0&pageSize=25 that might work, but I would need to check the data sheets.

I am in over my head a little when it comes to data sheets..do u think the digikey part would work?

attached is a pic of my possibly bad C700 cap.

          thanks
I am fixing my board could you tell mne the wattage of R5?

R5 looks to be 1/2~3/4W MOX (Metal Oxide) Flame proof resistor. You can measure the dimensions and match it to the replacement.

                Re: Phillips 47PFL3603D/F7 No Power

Quick question if I may. My Philips 47", 47PFL3603D/F7 was purchased used and broken. The set was dead. Opened it up and found a burned connection on the board where the transformer has been a problem on many other TV sets. I repaired the connection no problem. I also noticed two small caps beginning to bulge.(C-108 & C-112) I replaced them, but with 85 degree rated that I had in old stock. I plugged the TV in and it worked. After watching for a short time I noticed the picture began to intermittently stretch out past the bottom of the viewing area resulting in a distorted picture. I have no schematic on this set and was wondering if either of the caps I replaced are in the vertical circuit? I have ordered the correct caps and was also wondering if I should replace any of the others even they appear ok. (no signs of bulging) I have opened the set back up and see no signs of damage to the two caps that I had replaced or any others. I will wait until I get the 2 correct caps in before powering up again.
                Thanks for any help/advise.

I am also looking for a schematic for the Philips: 47PFL3603D/F7 Specifically the power supply board show information on C-108 & C-112 and if they are in the vertical circuit.

Yes the two caps I replaced are on the power supply board you identified. Hopefully when I get the correct caps in, this vertical/stretching will go away. They are located on the right side a little over half way up, just above the small transformer and just below the wiring harness plug.
                      Yours thoughts?

C-108 & C-112 are filter caps for the 3.3V STBY power supply, they are not the cause of the pictures problem.
Do you have screen shot of what the pictures look like? It sounds like bad panel.

Well, as you predicted the 2 new replacement caps did not fix the vertical deflection issue.(they were bulging) I'm an old school TV tech.(mid 80's) In those days I'd be using a can of freeze spray or a heat gun on electrolytic cap. or output transistors to isolate a intermittent problem. Is does appear to act up after the set has been on for while. Any idea where the vertical deflection circuit is located on the board/TV? I did talk to shopjimmy but they had no information about what circuits their kit components are located in.

It is LCD TV so there is no Horiz/Vetrical YOKE and drive circuit like CRT TV.

Well it's nice to meet an old tech. My dad and I opened a shop in the 70's. Mostly tube work back then. 6JE6 &6DW4 were a hot item. SO I know now that you understand my description of the problem. It did occur to me that it might not even be called a vertical deflection problem now a days. Sorry, I don't know what "ESR" is or means.

When normally watching a movie there will be a blacked out area above and below the picture. After warming up the picture will stretch out beyond the bottom of the blacked out area at the bottom. And later the top part of the picture will do the same thing. This leaves no blacked out areas on the screen and elongated images. Similar to the old verticle fold over issues we used to experience in the old days.

Well, I had to get my daughter to walk me through process to load
                                    pictures.
Hopefully this will work? Three images:
one shows the correct image(black band, border at the top and bottom of the screen)
two shows bottom black band gone(image goes all the way to the screen bottom)
three shows bottom and top black band gone(picture fills entire screen)
It occurs to me that perhaps this could be a problem in the ZOOM circuit and not a vertical issue?
Can you tell me what T-701(the one that usually smokes) does in the circuit?

T701 is inverter transformer that crates high Voltage (1500~2000V) to light up the CCFL's (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) inside the LCD panel for the light source.
The LCD TV has pictures aspect ratio setting mode, normal, full (fill), zoom 1, zoom 2, etc.

                                            Hi all,
I came across this very active forum with knowledgeable folks on electronic circuits and components, while google searching for the details of my burnt IC marked 7603 in Intel NUC board. I joined this forum today and this is my first post here.
I recently got an Intel NUC 10i5 and had installed Linux Mint and was using it for about a month when it died suddenly and did not power up after that.(Power Adaptor is ok). When I opened the NUC , there was a burnt IC marked 7603 (and ILCB in second line). I am unable to find the details/datasheet of this IC. I will be grateful if...

Hello, my HP doesn't start, and I found a burnt IC on the motherboard. I can't read the full description due to the damage. The component is labeled 3h=5g. Could someone please advise me where I could buy the component or its suitable replacement? Thank you. It's marked as PUG8 on the motherboard.

Hello guys, this autoclave running with 2 thermistors already connected TH1 and TH3(on CN1,CN2 sockets). One for the water temperture and second one for chamber temperature. But there is another emtpy socket for optional third thermistor CN2 wich is for TH2 for object temperature. I wanna add the third thermistor TH2 to CN2 socket. But i can't figure what model/brand/value i need to use. In manual document, there is no info about TH1 and TH3 model number...

Zotac GTX 260 burnt component - can anyone identify?
                                            by dicky96
                                            Hi guys
This Zotac GTX 260 had a high side MOFET on one Vcore VRM phase short circuit Drain to Gate (Not short Drain to Source)

This has burnt out the drive IC L3E (ADP3110A) and also an SOT-23 device very close to the driver IC. According to the PCB markings 'Dxxx' this is likely to be a diode.

Basically the VRM has 4 phases, two powered from one 6 way connector and two powered from the other 6 way

I would assume each pair of phases are basically identical, the burnt out phase has SOT-23 devices WW1 plus the burnt one.

                                            The good phase...

                                            Precision 5550 LA-J191P No Power, Burnt ISL9538
                                            by swimllamaswim
I picked up this Precision 5550 to fix up recently, and found that the ISL9538 chip was burnt on pin 14 (CSIN). The two left side Type C ports negotiate at 20v, and the right side one only negotiates at 5v. I also found the EMI protection diode, DT35, was burnt on that side. I pulled the ISL9538 off, checked for any other obvious shorts, repaired the pad, and put a new one on. Now, I still do not get power, and there is a rapid clicking sound from somewhere on the board that I can't pinpoint.

Here are the voltages measured at that chip:

To note, DCIN at Pin 17 is low,...
