Would this be considered a T-con board issue?

This guy had the same issue as you, claims his TV was working fine, then he put the main and tcon in the same model TV and it caused this issue, even when he switched the parts back. https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=34358Comment

Re: T-con board issue? Philips 52PFL5704D/F7
I'll have to take a closer look at the T-con board tomorrow, I pulled it out and cleaned it with alcohol and after I got the ribbon cables seated correctly is when the picture came back on,
When I first got the TV from my old boss it had no picture at all.
I do have a multi meter in case I need to check voltages, just would need to know what and where to check.

Re: T-con board issue? Philips 52PFL5704D/F7
yes, it has 2 ribbon cables, I'm pretty sure when I remove one half the screen will go white, I will check that again and post back in a few.
What would that mean if half the screen goes white?
Want to add when I first got the picture to come back, you could see the picture all the way across the screen, except their were lines on the left side of the screen, (could see through the lines) now all I'm getting are the lines as I posted in the pic above ( on the left side)

Re: T-con board issue? Philips 52PFL5704D/F7
Just was checking things on the T-con board:
If I remove the ribbon cable for the left side, the left side of the screen goes pure white, right side still has picture but it is frozen.
if I re-install it and remove the ribbon cable for the right side the whole screen goes out.
at one point after shutting the tv off than turning it back on the left side that had the lines was solid black, turned the tv off and on again and the lines showed back up.
I removed the T-con board again, to check it out closely, nothing looks bad visually.
Cleaned the contacts on the cables coming into the t-con board, didn't change anything.Comment

Re: T-con board issue? Philips 52PFL5704D/F7
I think you need a new tcon board. You removed the ribbon and the defect on the screen went away and turned white, correct? You could check fuses, etc... but after that, it may go to replacing IC's and I am not shure if you want to do that or not, unless a replacement tcon is too expensive.Last edited by CapLeaker; 01-24-2015, 11:54 AM.Comment

Re: T-con board issue? Philips 52PFL5704D/F7
Yes, the side of the screen I removed the ribbon cable from went to white.
Also just tried cooling the board and a little heat, no change doing either.
Guess I'll have to keep my eyes open for a new board, I see how hard they are to find.
Thanks Appreciate the help !Comment

by Asraf AtbHi everyone,
Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.
Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.
I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....1 Photo -
by x_orange90_xJust bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by spantorHello partners.
Could someone tell me how to make this Philips TV source work without the mainboard being connected? The model of the board is EAX65423701 (2.1) and the model of the Philips TV is 40PFH40009/88.
The TV is dead, there is no standby light, however there is a voltage of 12v on the pins ( included 12v VAU ) and 3.2v on the PS-ON pin (see photo) when the power board is connected to the main board. If I disconnect both boards I only get 8 volts on 12v pins. I would like to rule out a fault in the main board by making it work, but so far no one has been able to tell... - Loading...
