Hello All. I have a Hitachi plasma that is blowing capacitors. I have a picture of the capacitors attached. This is a new capacitor that I just installed. I replaced the y buffers and that allowed the tv to turn on and stay on. After the tv is on for a few minutes, the screen starts to fade and then boom!! Any ideas?

Re: Hitachi P50V701 blowing capacitors
Remove the cap and show us good clear picture of where the cap goes to, there should be big white band close to one of the two holes on the board for the cap.
is this the first time you do the cap replacement?Never stop learning

Re: Hitachi P50V701 blowing capacitors
This is the second time I've replaced that cap. The first cap almost blew as well, but I thought it was because i ran the tv for too long with the lower buffer board removed. The tv was probably on for 4 minutes or so. I found a picture of the board online and made sure that my negative leads were in the right hole. My guess is that there is a bad component on the ysus. I'll pull it and check it over. Thanks for the help.Comment

Re: Hitachi P50V701 blowing capacitors
If the cap is put in correctly then it must be the Voltage problem that caused the cap to blow like that.Never stop learning

Re: Hitachi P50V701 blowing capacitors
I was using the va/vs on the harness to check. My voltages are way high but my DMM was found to be defective so I need to retake them with my new fluke.

Re: Hitachi P50V701 blowing capacitors
Those readings are with both buffers running. The first cap blew with the lower buffer removed. Since then, I have replaced both buffer boards. I tested the voltage at the connector on the x board. The voltages were a bit lower than what the panel sticker reads. Is it possible that a component has failed on the psu restricting the flow of the current and causing the capacitor to overload?Comment

Re: Hitachi P50V701 blowing capacitors
I wish I could offer some advice, but boy I bet that capacitor was loud. I've blown up some small ones but nothing that size. Even a 470uf at 35v can make one heck of an explosion.
I have one of those power supplies sitting here and double checked your polarity and it appears to be correct.Comment

Re: Hitachi P50V701 blowing capacitors
I've been studying the circuitry of the psu and the capacitor that keeps blowing appears to be directly downstream from an identical capacitor that is not blowing. Does this mean that the problem is downstream from the blown capacitor? Possibly on another board? I'm lost at this point.Comment

Re: Hitachi P50V701 blowing capacitors
WE really need good clear pictures - have you checked for solder bridges that might touch when heated and have you clipped the capacitor leads close to the board - make sure it is not shorting on anything. Are the caps from a reputable source- where? Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: Hitachi P50V701 blowing capacitors
Could it be a counterfeit capacitor? I've had them before, a 450V one that violently vented on me... it was a "Nihoncon" in exactly the same font as Nichicon! Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

by dragon3xHi, I have some 32 bits computer motherboards that need repair, as they fail to
power on.
Here are some examples :
(N.B. "capacitors" indicated here are electrolytic capacitors located in the onboard
switching supply area).
(N.B. #2 : I could not find a 3300 microF aluminum-polymer with a higher voltage
than 6.3 V.)
1 - Motherboard #1 : this is an Asrock K7VT2 (socket A) that still works well. To put it on test
I replaced capacitors with aluminum-polymer.

by slybundahey all, iv got my favourite battery charger here which iv had for many years probably 15 years now or maybe even more. it still works good but thought id open it up to clean the dust out of it, lots of dust inside but now its clean and noticed 4 capacitors inside it and wondered if i should replace them.
it has inside:
2 x 47uf 16v caps 105c branded as Su'scon (lol sounds sus to me)
2 x 470uf 16v LZ105c branded as G.Luxon
not heard of these brands are they any good?
iv attached photos of the charger and the board inside for an idea on the type of...-

by sam_sam_samI did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow
This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

by CamaHello,
I need help to find the value of 2 missing capacitors ( C102 and C117) on my Easun SMH-II mainboard (solar hybrid inverter). I circled it in red on the close-up picture. The 2 old capacitors are completely missing, so I have no reference. Does anyone have this board and can tell me the value or make an educated guess based on the location ?
My model is : EASUN SMH-II 7 KW
Mother Board : P/N 18947-002401250250
Maybe the EASUN SMH-II 4.2 KW have the same capacitors
