Re: LG OLED65E9PUA Main Board Issue

LG OLED65E9PUA Main Board Issue
Just thought I'd post my repair success on this one since it was the newest OLED I've repaired to date. Symptom was TV acted like it was turning on but screen remained black and no audio. It was a bit sluggish to react to remote commands but hard to notice. Optical port on the main board lit up so that initially threw me off but the board was not putting out voltage to turn on the T-con so I proceeded with a main replacement. That resolved the issue. TV is less than 3 years old so pretty sad given the initial cost.

Re: LG plasma 50pk550 EAY60968801
I know this is a really old thread but thanks hartonoh for this post. Everything discussed her previously checked out on a power supply I have here and this put me in the right direction. I'd already inspected for cracked joints and overlooked one on one loan leg for T901....

Re: SAMSUNG UN50TU8000F rebooting, backlight ok. No 12v to panel boards.
I played around with the first dead one long enough to figure out the problem area but the result was a vertical line a few pixels wide. In the end, it was trash. The last couple I've been able to feel the warm area on the shorted tab, tear it off for testing, and verify the boards work....

Re: SAMSUNG UN50TU8000F rebooting, backlight ok. No 12v to panel boards.
Just to follow up on this post. I've had three of these in the last month now with the same issue. The TVs all ran with the ribbon cable disconnected so I began tearing ribbons off the panel and every one of them had some type of short in the panel in one or more areas. Here's a pic of one of them with the ribbon removed. All were in different areas. Cheap crap of a TV....

Re: Samsung UN60EH6003F, no picture, no T Con board, boot loop, etc.
I have one of these too. Same behavior with the 'compatible' BN95-00944C board. Original was BN95-00628C. I cannot find any info on what the modification is that needs to be done to the board to make it work. If anyone has any further info, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Weird Screen Failure Samsung UN55KU6300F
I worked at it for a while and was able to get some of the pixels to clear up but no where near the success the person in the video was having. It did at least prove to me that the spot was not a crack. The change in pressure caused the spot to shift as I was working on it. Very strange indeed....

Weird Screen Failure Samsung UN55KU6300F
Just posting this out of curiosity of who else has seen similar failures on this or other similar models. I picked this up yesterday and was told by the owner that they were watching the TV one evening. Zero issues. Next morning it looked like the attached. The spot is almost a perfect circle and there is no visible impact damage. She said that it was not hit with anything and there were no kids in the house. I personally haven't seen a failure quite like this....

Re: LG OLED65C8PUA Network Issue After Main Board Replacement
Ok. So, I have this resolved. The TV was a lightning strike victim which is why I was changing the main board in the first place. Apparently, the WLAN module was also damaged in the process. I assume it must have had a short and that somehow it was loading down the whole network portion of the board. Once unplugged, the ethernet port connected immediately. I have now replaced the module with an identical one out of an LG LCD TV from the same year and everything is back in order.
Thanks to Diah on the advice...

Re: LG OLED65C8PUA Network Issue After Main Board Replacement
Ok. I do recall the WIFI address being blank. I wish I'd taken a picture of the service screens now. I'll have the TV back in hand next week and can send updates as I work on it.
Now, WIFI aside; shouldn't the ethernet port work regardless or does it also require a settings adjustment. The TV detects that a cable is plugged in but it does not acquire an IP address.

LG OLED65C8PUA Network Issue After Main Board Replacement
I've listed the specific model here but I assume this may / probably applies to most newer LG Smart TVs. Also, I apologize for not having pictures but the TV is back up on the wall at a customers house and I'm trying to avoid moving it again.
Ok. Here's the scenario. TV took a surge from lightning and damaged the main board. I ordered a new one and installed it. TV powered right up and displayed 'factory mode' on the screen. I've seen this before so I grabbed my trusty LG service remote and a quick press of the IN START button had me at the factory set up screen. I wanted to let...

Re: LG 50PS60 Half Screen
You should never run any of the boards with even one screw missing. Asking for further damage. Those are all ground points for the board....

RCA model SLD65A55RQ Firmware File
Does anyone have a firmware update file for this model? Or the similar 55" version? I have a board on hand that I believe may be fixed with a firmware update. TV turns on and has sound but it's stuck in a color test pattern loop.
Thanks,
Aaron

Re: Samsung PN50A450 - Vertical Bars
Almost certainly a bad panel from the looks of it.

Re: samsung pn50a550s1 clicks
You need to replace C102 and C131 on the main board. 47uf capacitors. You can solder some small electrolytic caps on to the existing ones without even removing them.

Re: LG 50PK950 - No image shown
Yes, that's definitely the problem now. Also, what did you use to heat the board? If it wasn't hot enough, the issue will problem resurface quickly. As far as the cable goes, you'll almost certainly need a replacement.

Re: LG 50PK950 - No image shown
Classis symptom of failed solder joints on the processor of this main board (chip under the black heat sink). You'll need to have it serviced or replace the board.
