Element 40 led blue screen problem

    Howdy.

I have an Element 40 led tv. powers on but has a blue screen with no characters. Screen is uniformely blue so I do not believe the inverters are the issue. None of the buttons work (volume, source). Plugged in an hdmi source and no effect. I do not hav the remote. I have changed the capacitors on the power board but as there was no change (or worsening), I think it is not the power board. Any suggestions? My older RCa had an input issue caused by a tiny fuse that was blown (some inputs, bad audio) but I can't seem to find any other fuses on teh Element except for the main fuse.
A new one is cheap, around $120 on Black Friday sale so not much point in ordering new boards.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Sounds like a main board problem. Check it for visible defects.

I would say it is main board problem also.
I saw the ad for this 40" for Black Friday tomorrow for the same price, so it lasted one year, that is about $120 + tax per year to own this TV.

Main board meaning the board that accepts the inputs, not the power board?
I was going to hunt around the main board for any fuses as that may cause a problem with inputs as it did with my RCA. But they are so darn small, may be hard to find. If no fuses, any suggestions apart from looking for bulging capacitors (very small ones on this board and all seem flat)?

There are only 4 boards on this model: Power board, input board, led inverter board and a small board at the bottom. Not technically sure what it is called.

And yes, Target featured these for $120 on "Black Friday". Even at $120, not sure TV that craps out in less than a year is a good buy.
        Thanks.

bump, any updates to this thread? I have 3 Elements with same issue, replaced all 4 boards in 1, and same result.

please upload good clear pictures of the whole back side of the TV so we can see how all the boards are connected together, then the straight shot pictures of the power supply board and the main board.
You should look at the connector of the power supply board that goes to the main board, it should have labels to tell you what each pins are for so you can take the DCV reading of each pin to find out what are missing. What is the tv model number?
