I have a 55" Samsung with the power light steady blinking. I can here a weird tickin noise on the power supply. I have tested the pins on the power supply and the numbers are bounching up and down. With or without all boards plugged in. I have tried without tcon same results, with out main and tcon, with out backlight, all same results. Even the psu by itself numbers up and down. Here are the pictures....

Re: Samsung UN55D6050TF Power Light Blinking
Sounds like open cct / failed edge lighting LEDs. I've got a D7000 and basically it's a 4 channel backlight and any led that fails creates an open cct and the TV endlessly cycles on/off relays clicking and brief flash of the screen with the SMART logo.
There's some guys who have done more and posted on other similar models. Some have managed to replace/repair the SMD LEDs, for mine no good, unique and they have them standingon there edge, 2 -3 yr old TV down the tube. -
Re: Samsung UN55D6050TF Power Light Blinking
There is no brief logo on the screen or any flicker of the back light at all....Comment

Re: Samsung UN55D6050TF Power Light Blinking
And why would it continue on and off with nothing plugged into the power supply?Comment

Re: Samsung UN55D6050TF Power Light Blinking
Oh and the tickin is very faint. Its not the normal clicking you would hear....Comment

Re: Samsung UN55D6050TF Power Light Blinking
Is it coming from the PSu the clicking? Does it sound like a relay click?
maybe yours has a single bank of LEDs in series? With mine if the backlight is disconnected it also just clicks.
What pSu part number? looks very similar to mine.
i'm sure you'll get some other opinions shortly. I guess a bad main could do it but I think these have a common issue wit the LEDs burning out or in mine cracked solder.Comment

Re: Samsung UN55D6050TF Power Light Blinking
Doesn't sound like relay clicking, I can almost not even hear it. I also read that mainboards commonly go on this set also. And if I have to get my hands dirty ill get into the leds....I have nothing to loseComment

Re: Samsung UN55D6050TF Power Light Blinking
If your backlight harness has four wires then the easiest thing to do atm is disconnect the cable from power supply to main and plug it in. If your power supply AND baclights are working they will come on and you can probably say your main needs replacing. Report back.Comment

Re: Samsung UN55D6050TF Power Light Blinking
I tried that and no. I thought the main had to talk back to turn the backlight onComment

by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

by ipatchhello, i have been sitting on some microsoft surface pro 4 tablets for a while now. i was originally tasked with replacing the battery in one of the tablets, and ended breaking the screen and logic board in the process. decided to buy another tablet with the same specs. got that screen off successfully of the second tablet. the logic board appeared good, but i guess i shorted something out in the installation process of the logic which i've read is a common issue if there is no barrier between the logic board and battery pins. all that said, i ate costs of the repair and have...

by russpallHi there,
I've got a 39" LG 39LN540V that's just spontaneously stopped working! The symptoms are - when I plug it in, the red light will flash on twice, then go out, there's no visible picture, and I couldn't see anything using a torch on the panel either. If I press the power button (either remote or on TV), the red light comes on continuously. If I press power again, the red light flashes twice.
The TV is using a power board EAX64905301. I've attached a diagram of the power output, I've tested the voltages with a multimeter and I'm getting the following:
