    VIZIO (V555-H1) Television with odd cascading display fault

    Hello,

    I'm working on a Vizio Model V555-H1 that displays a cascading series of horizontal lines when first powering on. These lines appear to be in the shape of the Vizio Logo and descend until reaching the logo before resetting to the top and continuing their descent. I have reseated my TCON board and dusted connections but still have this fault displaying. I'm familiar with vertical lines but this one is a new one for me. My research into this problem hasn't yielded results as keyword searches point back to vertical line problems.

    Anyone have any recommendations? I stand ready to remove diodes on the buffer board.

        Disconnect the strips from the T-con and check the resistance of each diode assembly relative to ground (each diode assembly has 4 pins, the middle 3 pin is GND)

          After disconnecting the strips from the T-Con and checking the resistance in diode mode on each spot you marked I am seeing .0L on my multimeter. In resistance mode I got OL in both directions as well.

            It is better to measure resistance on large limits (200kOhm, 2MOm). Disconnect the left bar from T-CON and turn on the TV, see how the image will be on one half, then do the same with the right side...

              Disconnecting the left bar from the T-CON allowed the opposite side of the screen to display correctly.

              Disconnecting the right bar from the T-CON resulted in the same cascading screen image.

                I double checked pin connectors and ribbon cables and everything is intact.

                  So there is a problem on the left side, try to mask it on the CKV line...

                    Having trouble identifying the CKV Line without a data sheet for the IC. My search yielded no results. Is the CKY marked differently on this T-CON Board?

                          we do have here dual Channel Timing T-CON., one channel defect, could be Quartz or PMC, or also MB Data issue ... best way disconnect the LVDS, if yours BL remain On. fed the TCON F101 with 12V VCC and let it start RGB Test.for period of time., this will reset the T-CON SPI / gamma/ PMC

                            Do you suppose replacing the TCON F101 would provide the same results? I do have a donor board and i'm much more confident swapping ICs than injecting voltage.

                            Here are my results after trying 'Iotas' suggested fix. It was in fact a signal timing issue. Effectively this Television has been saved from E-waste so I'm satisfied with this conclusion. There are vague lines when the device first powers on but it's hardly noticeable with a full picture at a comfortable viewing distance.

                              Well, that's great, as I said, the problem is on the left side in the panel itself and here it is not a two-channel T-CON clock signal, but a regular one and is divided into each half of the panel.

                                when you disconnect one ribbon cable to Panel you will have picture on left or right ... its dual channel t-con... but when you have only one picture on one side only this signal channel. ... so correct your info.

                                masking CKV docent meant found fault... you are just remove the load from one channel of T-CON...

                                tell me what are defect on panel of double and distributed image, but when u mask one 1 or 2 ckv the panel display correct full image ?

                                  The same signals (CKV....) are supplied to both the left and right sides. If you don't believe me, you can use a multimeter to ring these signals CKV1, CKV2,.... The same line will be on both the left and right sides.
