Re: Sony KDL32L5000 screen stays black but audio works fine
Hello friends, I was wondering about how to shop for the correct SMD fuse. I can read it has an "L" or a symbol like a straight angle with a small "F" inside(over the foot of the "L") followed by "3A".Comment

That symbol LF stands for Littlefuse company. You have to measure the width and length in millimeter to find the correct size for this 3A fuse. I myself use PICO II axial lead fuse, just have to bend the legs to fit, no need to remove the old fuse. You can use 3A car fuse or any other type of fuse with legs for quick test for now.Last edited by budm; 07-14-2014, 03:23 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Sony KDL32L5000 screen stays black but audio works fine
guys I dont know where to ask this:
My LCD monitor was working just for about 5 min after you plug it in.After 5min it just turns off.I have opened monitor and I saw one big cap is broken. Its 400v 100uF.I have replaced that with brand new.I put all cables back in the holes, but now my screen is white.Sometimes it shows normal picture for 1-2 secconds.I was turning of/on my monitor a lot of time, and one time my monitor was showing picture more than 7 mins. After that I turned it off to put all things on its place. After that my screen is white again...Please help!Comment

Re: Sony KDL32L5000 screen stays black but audio works fine
Hi everyone, I just want to beg for your patience, I'm having some issues with my car and need to fix them before going to the nearest Shack and see if they got something to help me here. Just to clarify, can I use one of those glass tube fuses as well as any car fuse?Comment

24V is the minimum (12V x 2) in this case, so 250V rating fuse is OK.Never stop learning

Re: Sony KDL32L5000 screen stays black but audio works fine
Hello everyone, I got fast-acting, 250V / 3Amps fuses. The dimensions are .5x20mm. The next step should be to solder a lead to each side and then solder the opposite of each lead to the corresponding end cap of the defective fuse, right? Or do I need to remove the old, blown fuse?Comment

Re: Sony KDL32L5000 screen stays black but audio works fine
yes for now just solder to each end of the old fuse this is only for a test to make sure nothing else has blown etc.Comment

Re: Sony KDL32L5000 screen stays black but audio works fine
Hi every one, thanks for your patience, I've been having issues with the ISP and their service is crap as for the last month. Anyways, back to the TV, I soldered the fuse and the TV turned on, the horizontal, grey lines on top of screen are gone and seem to have been a poor connection of the flex cable, in the other hand, the vertical green lines persist. I can post a picture if you would like to take a look at it.What's the next step? Thanks againComment

Here are the pictures, notice that the vertical green lines are visible after a few seconds of powering on, then they get brighter and even a Red or Orange line can be seen beside the first GREEN one after a few more seconds.Comment

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by reformattJust had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".
It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...07-31-2025, 08:37 PM -
by ChrissygizmoHello again everyone,
This is my latest mission, to try getting this Sony tv back to normal working order…
I've only just got it today, when you power it up everything is as should be, in fact it works perfectly for a few minutes then the screen starts getting horizontal lines on & eventually the full screen goes back, I will upload photos of the problem & also some photos of the board etc. You might notice that I'm busy trying the tape method, I'm not sure exactly where the clock lines are so I'm just guessing & hoping for the best lol . I've already tried... -
by smic717394Hi,
I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on... -
by Adam RussWeird issue with this tv. Was streaming to the from a computer when it stopped working and the screen went black. Ever since then there has been. o image. Just a black screen. The audio works and yhe backlights do come on when it's powered on, it's just a black image. It presented like a backlight issue. So I finally got around to getting new backlights and a backlight tester. All of them test the same as the good backlights with the same voltages. There are no blinking lights. Just the white led at startup and when buttons on the remote are pressed signaling it's receiving from the remote....
