I think my plan is bad. Sony website states you cannot revert to previous firmware version.

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46EX640 no power

I have a 52ex703 and for the life me could not figure out how to change the model version. Im 100% certain it is possible on my tv as its the exact same board for 7 different size models and even the service manual states change to your panel type but does not show you how which I find very sneaky! somone must know how to do it or get into the hidden menu like on samsung tv's

As you can see the model name is KD556EX640 but my TV is KDL46EX640 and the Main Power registers 001. Any suggestions?

looks like u got the right panel number, i think the model names does not matter since the panel is right. looking at the service menu i can see at least one setting that conflicts with yours. match it according to the manual. but honestly i think one of your cables to the t-con / mainboard might not be in properly. doesnt to clean and reconnect

This is the result if I put high values on brightness, contrast, etc.

In the error log, it seems like you have a main power error(001). I'm not an expert, but I would check all the voltages to make sure that is all fine and I would clear that error.
I would try adjusting the LVDS level.
I would measure gamma voltages on the T-con board also.

@ tibimakai: thanks for your input. I have problem saving the LVDS level. It keeps on going back to 25 even if I set it at 20.

if VGMA 1,2 affect colour it would be interesting to run a test program. like i stated previously I had this issue on samsung and the cables were not seated properly even though they were in snug!

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                            Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                            Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

SONY XR-77A80J shuts off as soon as it is powered on. It goes into standby ok when plugged in but when power button is pressed, relay clicks and tv powers off. Power supply board makes a sound that sounds like momentary coil whine when it clicks off. The main board appears to turn on and has working optical.

I pulled the power supply board for visual inspection & there wasn't anything obvious. I am not sure how to go about testing this OLED as it is a bit different than the last one (LG) I tried to repair. The only voltage listed on the PSU is 12v for T-CON. The 12v is not present...
