As always be very careful when working on primary side of power supply, it can be deadly.

My Sony KDL-37EX403 LCD tv,won"t switch on anymore. When pluged in the power socket the Green light comes on for 2 seconds and then goes off and the Standby light comes on then Blinks for 7 times,if I press the power on on remote or side of tv the standby light blinks 3 times then pauses and repeats 3 blinks.
I dont know anything about tv"s but would be willing to repair the board if there is a KIT for my model.
    Any Help would be great.
3 red flashes is bad main logic or power board, check for standby volts if ok replace main logic board.

7 red flashes- main board over heating, can be short on power board or main logic board, maybe blow out any dust if you haven't already.

Ask shopjimmy how to update the firmware on this board.
You should probably open up the firmware somehow and edit the version of the firmware.

Did you manage to clear that Main Power error?
Some electronics, return to normal operation after clearing a previous error code.

as a summary for this specific problem of No power No standby problem:

1.) Bought power supply board from Shop Jimmy, problem is still the same.
2.) Bought Mainboard from another vendor though not brand new, the result is Power is
now OK as well as the standby voltage is now present. The "only" problem is the
that there are some "green lines" appearing on the screen. Please refer photos
posted. This Mainboard is actually from the 55" model of this TV series. Second, I
cannot change some parameters even following the manual on how to change some
    parameters.
3.) Bought and LVDS cable from another vendor (another pullout from the same tv model)
    Result is still the same.
4.) Bought T-Con board from another vendor (still another pullout), same result.
5.) Not yet convinced, bought another T-Con Board from Shop Jimmy, same result.

if VGMA 1,2 affect colour it would be interesting to run a test program. like i stated previously I had this issue on samsung and the cables were not seated properly even though they were in snug!

@ tibimakai: thanks for your input. I have problem saving the LVDS level. It keeps on going back to 25 even if I set it at 20.

In the error log, it seems like you have a main power error(001). I'm not an expert, but I would check all the voltages to make sure that is all fine and I would clear that error.
I would try adjusting the LVDS level.
I would measure gamma voltages on the T-con board also.

Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on
    by PopsCaps
I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
    by PantherDave
    Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

    Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue

    Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

SONY Bravia OLED XR-77A80J will not power on
    by repair-it
SONY XR-77A80J shuts off as soon as it is powered on. It goes into standby ok when plugged in but when power button is pressed, relay clicks and tv powers off. Power supply board makes a sound that sounds like momentary coil whine when it clicks off. The main board appears to turn on and has working optical.

I pulled the power supply board for visual inspection & there wasn't anything obvious. I am not sure how to go about testing this OLED as it is a bit different than the last one (LG) I tried to repair. The only voltage listed on the PSU is 12v for T-CON. The 12v is not present...
