I understand it very little but looks like it kind of harkens back to when kings ran things, I'd call it dictatorship. Canada=constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy. monarchy and dictator mean the same thing, ran by one person. I'm sure its a whole lot more complicated than that but it boils down to the same shiit we have down here...ours is a SYSTEM that is corrupted by some probably many politicians and a few billionaires making deals behind closed doors and with each other. I know what would be a good start, term limits, we have them for president but nothing else, that's f&%king stupid, wonder who made that law/rule. The way they get these laws passed is they hide them in other shiit when it's time to vote, I consider that a criminal act. Like the bill might be about say not locking old ladies up just because they're old, way way back on page 1,233 will say this bill will not allow term limits for politicians, its just SICK.

I just got home and downloaded the 2GB file from Mega link no problem. I guess I need to resize the partition of the 4GB memory stick? Right now the partition is only 1.6GB. I'll try it tonight when its quiet and the house calmed down a bit.

Diah Well... same thing. Reformated the drive to 4GB (FAT32) and put that V999.img on the drive. Plugged the drive in and did a reset on the tv. The USB blinks a few times and the TV goes into its usual bleeping loop thingy. After a while, the USB drive ends up with a couple more folders and that's it. Still haven't seen anything on the screen.

keep yours stick as normal fat 32 mbr mode and put the end file on it in format v999.img be sure urb pc showing file exertion format.

I did keep the partition at a FAT32 MBR 4GB. Extracted the zip and pushed the V999.img to the stick which filled it almost up. The TV reacted almost the same when I tried the small file. However the outcome is always the same and results in a loop of some sort where the TV makes a bleeping sound every 12 seconds or so with the backlights on and nothing on the screen.
Since the firmware update the TV took by itself, I never seen anything on the screen. For shits and giggles I checked out the LVDS again for another sanity check, Same as before, nothing on the LVDS.

Amlogic Soc suffer from heat if its under load such fimware update / read write etc.. i remember you wrote you changed new heatsink... so the original was small... it sound the Soc got BGA at time it under Online update... try heating the soc from the top.. with hot air gun... you will not loss anythings.

I tried one more last ditch attempt with this board and did following:
1) reflowing it / No go
2) found 3 TCL groups on Telegram, one of it is a bot. I have to say that this TV wasn't in their list. However they were saying that the update file should be update.img, not V999.img. Tried that, no go.

The only thing I haven't done is to put a TTL on the main board and see what's happening. I don't think there will be anything fruitful coming out of this. It's just another week for the replacement main board to arrive.

wow... yours TCL are working but just GPU out , either it can pick IP if you connect it to yours Router... so plug it in router and read the IP of it from inside the router.. and let assign same IP each time it plugged in LAN,

use on PC ADB ..
adb connect yours TV IIP after that keep presst OK on the RC as you cant see.. to be sure its connected to ADB

adb devices it should show server started

adb reboot it will let the TV reboot

adb reboot recovery hope yours recovery will come on

I know it is polling an IP address from the router. Problem is the TV is starting something every 12 seconds or so and there is a bleeping sound. It isn’t fully rebooting but it seems the TV is trying something and failing. It’s the weirdest thing on a TV I ever saw. It is there, but yet it is not accept anything besides an IP.

for example

Nope... no go for me that way. I think the only way to do something maybe is over that factory programming port on the main PCB.

Finally this TV is fixed. Got a new main board, chucked that in, turned the TV on and SUCCESS!

disconnect it from internet and disable auto update lol
