Hi Guys. I am new here. I am working on sony kdl46hx800 with similar power problem. Got stand_by 3.3v all time. after startup PS does 3 rounds to start and ends shut down with error code (4times blinking red led).Did some troubleshooting, Disconnected harness between tcon and led backlight drivers helps to start power supply , I can here startup sound in speakers but no picture and no backlight. Suspect Tcon or backlight drivers ? Please help to determine problem, THX

I agree, I would not have done this if it wasn't a nice larger TV.

Yea, you know how the ribbons flex around to the back of the panel with that long board attached? They had some masking tape holding it there along with the ribbons to the T-con. I thought it would be a good idea to tape that board to the top of the panel while working on the lights, but maybe that was too much flexing. Hope I never have to do it again.

It would seem so easy for them to design a small access on the sides for the LED strip.

You probably flexed the tab slightly when putting the panel together or taking it apart. They are so damn delicate. I *hate* taking apart panels. I feel like I'm doing open-heart rocket surgery.

I got some more patience and took this apart again, the tab bonds are relatively easy to get to. Put some Bergquist thermal pad (recommended by Budm in the past) under the offending tab bond, and got lucky. Hope it holds up.

OMG put it all back together, connected a source and a few vertical lines down the right side of screen. I was very careful with the panel. They may have been there before I dunno I never got the TV to come on before. What a waste..

Mine was definitely the LEDs, replaced the right side strip and all good!

Note: After going thru testing each LED on the old strip they were all good. One was shifted and touching the adjacent one, and one had fallen off completely which I may have done when removing. Seems they weren't soldered very well, or heated up too much and moved.

Yes taking it apart does suck! But not too bad just make sure you're patient. I had the hardest time getting the screws out without stripping them, had to drill 2 out.

Voltage at main filter cap(s) is 390v but every 4-5 seconds there is a subtle "tick" and the voltage pulses. With everything plugged in the voltage dropped by about 40v. With Main board and Inverter (though all I see is a connector that disappears behind the panel) disconnected the voltage seems to rise during the "tick" to just over 400v.

Hi, i'm new in the forum but came up with your same problem. Don't know if you still have the problem or the tv but i fix mine moving the potentiometer in the PSU counterclockwise 10 to 15 degrees. It is not that brighth as before but it's been working for four days now. Good Luck!

Haha yes you have to separate the panel assembly from the backlight assembly. Then you can plug it in and see what's happening.

You can put a meter across each led in diode mode and see which will not light. I bet in your case bad leds will be clearly visible.

How did you determine the LEDs were bad, did you have to expose them to see that some were out?

I thought these lights were supposed to last a very long time!

Not in my case however many have reported the set to reboot due to failed leds causing the backlights to come up for a short period during the cycle as in your case before the PS shuts down and the cycle starts over.

If I disconnect the main board from the PS, I get a constant bright blink of the backlight every 3 seconds. With the main board connected it's a dim flash about every seconds.

Although I can't find a service manual for this model, the newer manual suggests that the 2011 model's backlight should stay lit when disconnecting the connector to the main board.

My question is did the backlights blink every few seconds when the problem was confirmed to be bad LEDs?

If the power supply PS-ON pin and the Backlights pin have built-in pull-up resistors then you can disconnect the cable between the power supply board and the main board, apply the AC then you will see the backlights come on right away (no need to activate the power switch).

So I just got one of these in (UN55D6050TFXZA), the standby light blinks and backlight flashes intermittently, is there a way to test if it it's the LED's or the main/PS board??

ShopJimmy has them listed now for $55 but "out of stock". Maybe contact them and see if they can locate some for you.

The repair itself isn't so bad it's getting to the led strips that's a bitch.

Not sure if anyone is still following this…first time post. I have the same unit and believe the LED's are to blame. The main board was replaced one year ago under warranty. Since the LED's are so friggin hard to effectively replace, does anyone want the FRU boards? -OR- does anyone have a good led set they would like to sell? I got the unit for free, and really hate to junk the thing, but this looks like a trip to Costco would be much easier in time and frustration.

Hi so even if all the strips all light up fine by bridging A5v to pwm1 - 4 . You say it could be a current issue. For this I would have to put my dmm in series and I don't think it would tolerate amp measurement of current going through.
What troubles me is that by manually forcing them they light up like it says here.

On the set I worked on the A 5vdc was good but it was the B 5vdc that cycled on/off. A new PS did same thing. Itwas due toast bad LED strip. If all your Leds turn on it may be a current issue. Measure the current of each strip. Compare it to the current rating listed on the PS. Is the voltage to the LEDs correct?

    Re: UN55D6000 Blinking Standby Light

To OP, Hi listen maybe you an help me out I have a 46d7000 with the exact same problem as yours the main psu clicks on and off. At first I thougt it could be a bad psu so I ordered a new replacement but keeps on doing the same thing.

    - If I unplug PSU from the mainboard the clicking stops.
    - If I unplug the PSU from mainboard backlights are not coming on.
    - I even teared down the screen completely and seen the led stripes all light up I don't see any burnt one
    - So I jumpered A5v with pwm1 pwm2 pwm3 and pwm4 and all the led stripes turn on from top to bottom.
    - Measured all voltages and they seem fine B5v, Vamp and so on. By the way do you know what OD_LEVEL and OD_ON_OFF are?
    - If I leave psu plugged to main , and measure the a5v test pad underneath when it clicks A5v goes 0 to 5 , and 5 to 0 while clicking

My question is , did you made the same test as me jumpering A5v with pwm1 ? to see if the led strips lit ? from what I can see all the led strips turn on fine.. but could they be bad ?

I'm suspecting the eeprom got corrupted but I already tried to reset it bridging SDA line to ground and SDA to VCC. Nothing. I'm going to desolder the eeprom and solder a blank one. Some ppl on samytogo forums said the SoC regenerates all the data. But I'm suspecting my set got bad with power spikes leading to something internally , like the unit doesn't turn on at all. but seems like a watchdog timer or somehing it's cycling. I could be wrong.

I am working on a QN750Q8FNBFXZA. Dead except the standby light. It blinks what appears to be 1 3 1 2. 1 long blink, pause, 3 short, pause, 1 long, pause, 2 short, pause, repeat. A service manual would be very helpful, or if anyone knows these error codes. Thanks!

LED TV Samsung The Frame 55 inch QE55LS03RAU Standby Light only
    by ChristianBr01
    Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power...

LG 55EG910V - no power and no standby light
    by AleMonti
    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to troubleshoot and repair this old LG OLED curved TV, model 55EG910V.
I did some basic troubleshooting and reviewed most related posts here, but I wasn't able to isolate the issue.

The TV shut itself off during playback and never came back to life - the standby light remains off. My dad claims that it has happened a few times in the past but the issue resolved itself after some time. Not this one.

After checking the basics I did the following:
    • I measured all voltages and as expected the only active supply is the 3.5V standby. It

Samsung QLED QE65Q7FNAT only standby light
    by Kaar3l
    TV: Samsung QLED QE65Q7FNAT
    PSU: BN4400940A
    MB: BN94-12832K

I got the tv in spring 2024. At that time it started, then ran 60 sec and poweroff. Seemed like reboot issue. I didn't have time and room to check it in summer so I plugged it in and now the standby light is on. I press button on remote, standby light goes off and tries to start?. No picture or backlight on LCD. I thought about removing diodes like in this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...sung-qled-q60r...
