Re: UN55D6000 Blinking Standby Light
You can trick it with a simple jumper if that's your goal.

Re: UN55D6000 Blinking Standby Light
Sorry to hear that. I wouldn't necessarily part it out yet, just keep an eye for a drop-in replacement strip. Or like in my case any from the same series (and same size) can be used with a little rewiring - no need to touch the leds if they are good.Leave a comment:

Re: UN55D6000 Blinking Standby Light
Well I finally gave up on the set. The LED stip had 19 bad leds. I replaced 8 of them but the board was looking bad from removing the LEDs. It just took so much heat to remove the old LEDs that the traces that jumper the series LEDs come off and using wire wrap jumpers was not pretty. The ciruit was unreliable as it was but with all the jumpers and heat to rmove the LEDs thermal glue was too hard on the strip. With that much work and issues of unreliability I called it quits. If I ever get another one of the sets in and the problem is not the LEDs then I can get a current measurement to figure resistance of the proper load. The DigiKey leds STW8Q14BE-U0U7-BA woroked but were not as bright as the original using meter diode test.Leave a comment:

Difficulty with matching colour balance and brightness, along with the number of LEDs and rated current. If it did work, the picture would probably look off in one corner...Leave a comment:

Wonder if an led strip from another tv would work? Like just splice the wires and wire them in or something?Leave a comment:

Re: UN55D6000 Blinking Standby Light
Ok gotcha. Well I get off work at 2:30 today and gonna start working on the TV again. Hopefully I can get it goin. What stores carry thermal glue?Leave a comment:

Re: UN55D6000 Blinking Standby Light
I think that's for heat transfer. I used thermal glue there to keep the led in place and facilitate led cooling.Leave a comment:

Re: UN55D6000 Blinking Standby Light
I have a hot air soldering station. But they are tricky to solder. It has the 4 prongs on end of led. IN the middle of led, does that have to be soldered also?Leave a comment:

Still trying to find the best way to install them. How did you do it ?Leave a comment:

Re: UN55D6000 Blinking Standby Light
Well I had an issue where an led actually fell off the strip. Put it back on and tv worked for a few minutes and went back out. Gonna take it back apart and see what I can do. Is there a trick to soldering these. They are kind of difficultLeave a comment:

Re: UN55D6000 Blinking Standby Light
For aquariums and outdoor lighting and such ? Not likely.
First you have to make sure the current draw and voltage requirements are same for the output of your power supply. Then there are space requirements that can not be exceeded. Then there are possible colour temp issues and/or possible heat related problems.
I would think there are a whole host of things needing to be overcome to customize the backlight system.Leave a comment:

Re: UN55D6000 Blinking Standby Light
I just ordered STW8Q14BE from DigiKey p/n STW8Q14BE-U0U7-BA 69 cents each.
I have noy received them yet but from my check it should work. Seoul Acrich series LED
The best way I found through experimentation in removing them with the least amount of damage to the strip was to cut them in half with small pointed Xcelite MS54-9J cutters then unsolder the leads. A small exacto knife is used to help lift the cut halfs from the strip when unsoldering. Then use a Flux solvent remover to clean the strip.
I know of no one that has them. I have seen them posted in the past.Leave a comment:

by mecha1166I am working on a QN750Q8FNBFXZA. Dead except the standby light. It blinks what appears to be 1 3 1 2. 1 long blink, pause, 3 short, pause, 1 long, pause, 2 short, pause, repeat. A service manual would be very helpful, or if anyone knows these error codes. Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power... -

by AleMontiHi everyone,
I'm trying to troubleshoot and repair this old LG OLED curved TV, model 55EG910V.
I did some basic troubleshooting and reviewed most related posts here, but I wasn't able to isolate the issue.
The TV shut itself off during playback and never came back to life - the standby light remains off. My dad claims that it has happened a few times in the past but the issue resolved itself after some time. Not this one.
After checking the basics I did the following:- I measured all voltages and as expected the only active supply is the 3.5V standby. It

I got the tv in spring 2024. At that time it started, then ran 60 sec and poweroff. Seemed like reboot issue. I didn't have time and room to check it in summer so I plugged it in and now the standby light is on. I press button on remote, standby light goes off and tries to start?. No picture or backlight on LCD. I thought about removing diodes like in this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...sung-qled-q60r... - Loading...
