Re: Problems After SC Board Replacement - Panasonic G20

Hi Tom.....While I digest all this new info, in terms of your test video, I need to check for shorts on my buffer boards so that they dont damage the newly purchased SC board. At this stage I'm not concentrating on what is wrong, if anything, with them.......Where would I put the probe on the TNPA5090 , which pin/s of the SC41,46 or 42?......I realise that even if I dont get a short, there may be other faults but nothing that will knock out the SC board I assume, or am I wrong (again)?.....
    thanks

Re: Problems After SC Board Replacement - Panasonic G20

Hi guys......well I received my SC board TNPA5081 AY, an exact replacement for mine. Fitted it and did the check with the SC50 jumper in place, continuous green light, fans turning, looking good. I was still apprehensive about the buffers and did the checks for shorting but was still not convinced properly. Hayho, as someone on here once said, what have I got to lose......THE SC BOARD !!!.....switched on and she is waiting for a signal....A Result !!!!

One minor observation, in the left hand bottom section of the screen is one broken vertical line about three inches long of green flicker..can only be one pixel width..(is that the right measurement)....I bet when I have a full picture it will probaby not be noticeable. Is this a bad ribbon seating on the C2 board?....any ideas?

      Thanks for the help, honestly........

        Hello
I know it is a 1,5 years old topic, but I am curious, how did you solved the problem? I was in the same situation; SC board broken, and replaced with one from a broken tv... after the replacement i had the same purple snow and altered white, and some horizontal bars, but not always. Big surprise... after disconnecting the screen ribbons and the connectors between the boards (sc-su-sd), and reconnecting them, the problem disappeared...
