Panasonic TX-P50VT20B
Well after trouble shooting myself around this set and finally successfully bringing it back to life, I have this !!!!!!!!...(see pics)....I was told that the set had been without any problem until it simply shut down with ten red blinks..... All boards are the original apart from a replacement SU board, buffers were fine. ...I have a feeling I know what the answer is but would appreciate any assistance...

Re: Problems After SC Board Replacement - Panasonic G20
Hi guys......well I received my SC board TNPA5081 AY, an exact replacement for mine. Fitted it and did the check with the SC50 jumper in place, continuous green light, fans turning, looking good. I was still apprehensive about the buffers and did the checks for shorting but was still not convinced properly. Hayho, as someone on here once said, what have I got to lose......THE SC BOARD !!!.....switched on and she is waiting for a signal....A Result !!!!
One minor observation, in the left hand bottom section of...

Re: Problems After SC Board Replacement - Panasonic G20
Hi Tom.....While I digest all this new info, in terms of your test video, I need to check for shorts on my buffer boards so that they dont damage the newly purchased SC board. At this stage I'm not concentrating on what is wrong, if anything, with them.......Where would I put the probe on the TNPA5090 , which pin/s of the SC41,46 or 42?......I realise that even if I dont get a short, there may be other faults but nothing that will knock out the SC board I assume, or am I wrong (again)?.....
thanks

Re: Problems After SC Board Replacement - Panasonic G20
Yeh....it wasn't a test !!.....Stupid me picked up another set that I happened to have..Sorry my mistake. Of course you're right, the boards are TNPA5090,91.
I had already found the rest of the document and am learning/reading without actually doing anything yet.....
Thanks once again...

Re: Problems After SC Board Replacement - Panasonic G20
Thanks for the help......I've watched the TOM66 video many times but cannot figure how to apply it to my TNPA5336 and TNPA5337 boards, they are so different...Where is the "Y main output" ?...there are only the SU41,SD42 and SD46 connectors......am I making any sense?.......The SC test I understand and can do......Maybe this is all just beyond my capabilities......

Re: Problems After SC Board Replacement - Panasonic G20
I have a TXP50VT20 with similar problem...but am only someone at the 'replace a board' by elimination process .I find it difficult to understand a Panasonic technician not replacing all three boards...SC, SU, SD. as it seems common for failures to be in more than one.
I have read in equal numbers the opinion that they "should all be replaced at the same time" and "replace only the SC" ...which of these is correct?
I have a replacement SC board on its way but have tried trawling around to find...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi, I'm a retired Englishman who has a variety of hobbies and pastimes that has now turned to trying to understand TV basics in order to repair a Panasonic TXP50VT20....this forum is so worldwide its quite outstanding.....I have to say that I am starting at a very VERY low, 'change the board' kind of level..
