    Philips 32PFL3404H/12 image distortion

Image is ok for 2 seconds, then it is distorted as you can see in the photos attached, then it is good again and this goes on and on.

I checked all the voltages and capacitors of the power supply with the esr meter and everything was found ok.

Is it a bad T-con board? Can I just replace it with one with same code "6C110D 1906A 1"? Is it easy to find a replacement board?

Is it the same on all inputs? scarts, rf antenna, pc input etc... hdmi

Yes. It has nothing to do with the input signal.

Okay well you pretty much say that the primary side of the PSU is working as is the secondary side of the PSU that feeds the inverter board. I've highlighted part of the the secondary side of the PSU that feeds the main board and the tcon board. You could test each of the voltage rails on the connector to see that the voltages are within spec at this point.. There are not too many components on this board, so I would test all of them, especially the capacitors.. PLUG OUT AND DISCHARGE CAPACITORS BEFORE TESTING. If you can confirm the voltages are good at this point then you can move on to the main board.

If you're saying that it is okay for about two seconds, it might also be worth having a go with the freeze spray and see if you can find a fault..

You could also post pictures of the underside of the boards, so that we can look for bad joints..

I have already done that. All the voltage rails are ok.

I forgot to mention that I can hear an electronic sound coming from the T-con board while the image gets distorted.

What some people do is get a piece of paper and make a funnel, then put it to your ear. Then try to work out which part of the board is making the noise..

Since it is working on turning it on, it's not likely to be a fault that you can see in those pictures.. Maybe see where the noise is coming from and try to confirm which component is dodgy using freeze spray and/or testing with multimeter.

I would start at the TCON since you think it is making noise and it is the most logical cause of your problem. I think you should check the voltage at the fuse (F1) so you can see if it is stable. There also appears to be a voltage regulator (u53?) you should check. By seeing if the voltage fluctuates at these points when the picture changes it will help isolate where your problem is located.

I think is coming from the inductors L1 and L2 for the switching power supplies. Try disconnecting the ribbon cable between the T-CON and the LCD panel to see if the noise goes away.

                    Re: Philips 32PFL3404H/12 image distortion

This sounds very similar to an issue I'm having with a Technosonic LCD3251, however distorted image only on scart, side a/v input and antenna.
Also an inductor is buzzing on the T-con board, replacing the T-con made no difference, image on those inputs are still distorted and inductor buzzes.

Would disconnecting the T-con from the panel prove a faulty panel / tab connectors(not sure what these are called - between the T-con and panel).

But like in my thread, the tv works perfectly with hdmi and pc input so there must be a difference with the video signalling to the panel.

Seems odd no-one has mentioned Service Menu, to check settings. On mine there is a panel selection LG 26", LG 32" and a few other makes/sizes, not that it makes a difference with my issue but could here! Though possibly not as the image is good for a few seconds then distorts, but nothing to lose and no money spent trying it.

Also, there is no mention of the history of the TV, found in a skip, received from an untrusted source? Who knows what the previous owner has tried or changed.
