I have a VO42L when you plug in the AC plug Vizio on front goes Orange then turns White. Can not turn off, no sound or Picture. Have checked PS have 12v and 24v and have 3.4 volts for turn on. No Back lights. Have looked at caps on all boards none look bad. No burns chips. Could main board be bad, as it looks like it controls on/off and sound. Have 5v & 12v to Main board fuses.

Sir. would you try to Re-solder the Power supply. or can you check at Ohm-miter (tester) the Capacitor. -

The power supply looks to be working as I have the 5volts, 12 & 24 volts po on is 3.4. As the tv when plugged in goes from orange to white by is self, I think is a main board problem. I think the main board controls the turn on for Backlights as the 24 volts are present at J1 pin 1 of inverter pcb.Comment

What do you mean by this?Sir. would you try to Re-solder the Power supply. or can you check at Ohm-miter (tester) the Capacitor.

I would check the voltage regulators on the main baord first since we at least know that the 5V STBY is working.
Please upload the GOOD, CLEAR pictures of the main board using managed attachment.Never stop learning

I have highlighted the voltage regulators.
To check each regulator post the voltage on each pin relative to ground (chassis of TV) with TV in the malfunctioning state. Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!!

Hi I inherited a Vizio M65-E0 that isn't working. It must have been dropped on the corner because I found that the infrared circuit had a capacitor with one end broken off of the board and some green corrosion around the plug to the main board. I re-soldered the capacitor and cleaned the corrosion well and tried turning the M65-E0 on and I was successful. My problem is that while the back lights come on and appear to perform local dimming there is no picture or sound. It kind of looks like you are looking at the TV through a very dense fog, where changing the input on the remote will change bright... -
Ok so here's the story. I was watching tv one day when all of a sudden I heard a pop from the back of the tv set and rushed to unplug the set. By this time the tv already had smoke coming out the back. It was not storming or inclement weather that day to cause a power surge to the best of my abilities. When I opened the tv up, I found that the three capacitors on the psu (highlighted in red) were all bulging and looked they had exploded. I replaced all of them right away and when I went to start up the tv after the "fix" it started just showing the flashing vizio logo as soon as power...
