OK, Voltages look OK, one signal is missing is the BL_ON signal for turning on the inverter boards. Did you check it at the inverter board to see if it is present? Pictures of your inverter boards?

No I only checked 24 volts at Inverter board. Only have one inverter board. Will have to take apart and do photo.

But still have issue as you don't turn on TV, goes abler to white once plugged in to wall outlet and you can't turn of except to unplug.

          OK:
"12 V on-off 0" This si the Inverter ON/OFF, right now it is not being told to turn. This will explain why you do not have the backlights. It means that you have main board problem, and since you cannot control the TV either so your main board is bad. This is the reason I am looking to see if the ON/OFF (BL_ON) is present or not to confirm that the main board is bad.
Check shopjimmy.com to see what the replacement board will cost.

Sell it as faulty, keep it for reference or throw it away.

Bought it used on E-bay $63.00. Ordered before I did all those tests. Thought if it was turning on by self board bad.

Im working on the same model VO42L. Tv turns on normally sound and picture play fine for 5 minutes then everything turns off, even the Vizio logo in the front. I check the 5v pin and there is no voltages at all. I need to unplug the tv for 2 minutes plug it back and i get 5v again. I think its a power supply issue. Any suggestion before i order this? Thank you

                        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                        Assuming...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
                        by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Vizio M65-E0 No Picture, No Sound
                        by ggil44
Hi I inherited a Vizio M65-E0 that isn't working. It must have been dropped on the corner because I found that the infrared circuit had a capacitor with one end broken off of the board and some green corrosion around the plug to the main board. I re-soldered the capacitor and cleaned the corrosion well and tried turning the M65-E0 on and I was successful. My problem is that while the back lights come on and appear to perform local dimming there is no picture or sound. It kind of looks like you are looking at the TV through a very dense fog, where changing the input on the remote will change bright...

                        by Super360
Ok so here's the story. I was watching tv one day when all of a sudden I heard a pop from the back of the tv set and rushed to unplug the set. By this time the tv already had smoke coming out the back. It was not storming or inclement weather that day to cause a power surge to the best of my abilities. When I opened the tv up, I found that the three capacitors on the psu (highlighted in red) were all bulging and looked they had exploded. I replaced all of them right away and when I went to start up the tv after the "fix" it started just showing the flashing vizio logo as soon as power...
