    Pardon if repeats.....

Service Mode / Factory Mode Entry Procedure to different brand Televisions.
    Chinese Sets
Hold down (Volume down) on set and press 'Recall' on remote.
'Recall' is the button that activates the channel number and clock onscreen.
After you have made your changes, in most cases, pressing 'POWER' on the remote will clear (Exit) the factory mode.
On some models pressing the 'AV' button will revert things to normal operation.
In rare cases, the sequence first described above (Vol - on set and recall on remote) will have to be repeated at least once more.
If none of the above methods works, try using a universal remote - best one that has a LOT of in-built models.
Search through the available models looking for any that suddenly causes the set to change channels.
Lock this setting into the remote and press '2'.
    Factory mode should appear.
    COBY
Enter menu, Hi-Lite “audio” then enter 8893 Mode/Source 2580 select “Other setting”, select “Shipment” then Yes
To exit the service menu “Power Off”.
    Dynex
    Source/Input 2580
Hold Vol down on TV and hold the (#1) button on remote, Vol will jump to halfway and set shuts off.

    Proscan
In customer menu go to setup, select parental control menu, enter 0000 then select “clear channel list”.

(Note – On Sharp models, you will need to look through the menus to find the reset option)

    55" Vizio SmarCast E55-E1
Locate the buttons on the side of the TV, you should find 4 of them. The bottom two would be input and volume down, these are the two we need.

You would need to press these two together for 5-10 seconds, until a bar appears on the top of the TV. Then, you need to press the input button (the bottom button) for 5 seconds, until the screen goes black. This would cause a factory reset to the unit.

Have a Sony Bravia KDL-40SL140 with no remote. According to service manual I should (using the remote) enter

    DISPLAY 5 volume + POWER

to enter service mode. Since I have only a systemlink 3 universal remote (no DISPLAY key) does anyone know a way to enter service mode without a remote (or with universal remote)?

    Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your list of codes. I had been looking for the RCA code and voila, you had it. It fixed my problem which was the following:
Source was stuck on pc input. Even if changed to another input, it just came back to the pc input. Problem solved with resetting tv to initial manufacturer settings.

This may not be the right place to post this question however being new here I thought it the best place. I have a Hisense 40d50p and i'm trying to prevent it from overscanning on my PS4. I have set the screen mode to PC which eliminates the overscan but prevents me from setting sharpness and colour. I have entered the service menu and changed the settings in there. Now for my question how do I get the settings to apply after I have turned the TV off or changed the input? I have searched all over google but can't find an answer so any help would be greatly appreciated.

But I have not ever seen the user menu nor the installers menu. I've tried a bunch of remotes(more info on the AVF post) and tried every button...
