    lenovo thinkpad e480 problem

    howdy yall,

back in this last december i lost my svp for my thinkpad, then i found this technique and it worked successfully.

the only thing i found weird was that now in the bios menu, specifically under the secure boot configuration in the security tab, it went from mentioning microsoft windows 10 to now showing microsoft windows 8 when i scroll over the restore factory keys option.
and im wondering if my current problem is due to the flash/patch ive done:

im having a hard time activating windows 10 pro :lenovo thinkpad e480 that i purchased from retailer microcenter back in 2018 : . it came with windows10pro which i made a recovery usb for at the very beginning.

i was much more used to linux so i wiped the hdd and installed ubuntu. now after several years i want to see if i can get hold of windows11 thru an upgrade. so i went ahead and recovered window10 onto the laptop and tried to activate it.

but i get the message: " we cant activate windows on this device because you dont have a valid digital license or product key. if you think you do have a valid license or key, select troubleshoot below. error code 0xC004C060"

the laptop came with all the bloatware, specifically the mcafee suite which wouldnt let me uninstall it or even enable the firewall so i dont think i ever went thru with activating windows

so just this week i downloaded new lenovo recovery media download from their digital download recovery systems page and created a new recovery usbdrive , which came with a newer window10 build but with the same product key and its still the same error: cant activate windows. it requested the serial number, then provided me with my windows10 so i know its genuine, where as otherwise it would have not.

since i got the laptop ive added a nvme drive as primary drive, and ive replaced the memory modules with larger capacity ram, in case it has something to do with it

is this an issue that happened because of the flash patch or is this something i have to talk with microcenter, lenovo, or microsoft? is the retailer supposed to activate it for the customer? thanks for any advice

it also mentions an error when loading ubuntu:
problem blacklist hash, and that repeats for like 10-15 lines
