I'm glad you find it amusing. Not my TV; I was visiting from out of state.
I had no control over the content displayed to demonstrate the issue described, an off-color kind of oval blotch on part of the screen.
I hope someone can make a serious attempt at answering the question.

TCL 55R635 green tint on part of screen, otherwise works fine
A friend in Connecticut USA asked me for advice on the pictured symptom. I have done a topic search and found no threads regarding this brand and symptom. TV works normally except for the greenish blotch visible near right of center. I'm not currently there to troubleshoot. But I'd like to advise him (an aircraft engineer) on possible cause, and likelihood it is worth fixing. -

I did measure resistance of both temp sensors as seen by the control board. As expected both were about 17-18kohms at ambient and varied in response to touch with a warm finger.Leave a comment:

Q32 and Q31 do not appear to be interconnected. With a multimeter in ohms and diode check modes they appear to be normal and resemble the drivers of the motor relay coils.
I installed a larger diode for D26, a 1N4004, after this pic was taken. Yes, I must have forward biased D26, since the solder melted....Leave a comment:

Not intentionally, but here is the fix. Model is Blomberg DV16540. I'm posting pics of the schematic included with the dryer, and the main board. Very little detail of the main board circuitry was provided.

I ordered a replacement control board. My primary concern is whether the moisture sensor could be open. It consists of two metal plates fixed inside the drum. Naturally it ohms in megohms from the control board connection. But the transformer that “senses” changes in moisture level also reads very high ohms. I suspected a dry reading might cause the heater to disable. So I added wet laundry but it made no difference.
Any technique for testing or bypassing that moisture sense circuit?Leave a comment:

Toshiba Satellite S55t camera "disconnect"
For about a year my laptop camera has been MIA. Neither the camera app or zoom, etc. can open the camera. The camera is also hidden in Device Manager unless I show hidden devices. The camera properties state that it is not connected, Code 45.
I have reset Windows 10 which made no difference.
Is it physically possible for a camera cable to disconnect itself? -

I replaced both relays that power the heater coils. Perfect fit. To my surprise nothing changed on the control board. The R5 relay would not switch when activating the coil terminals with 9Vdc through a resistor. I also found (or melted) and replaced the diode that shorted when I tried to activate the R5 coil.
Tomorrow, I plan to test the reworked control board in the dryer but am not optimistic.

The heater coils are rated 600W and 1400W and can be run separately or simultaneously, thus separate relays. To my surprise, the stuck relay powers the lower-wattage coil.Leave a comment:

Blomberg electric dryer - Need a replacement relay
A neighbors Blomberg electric dryer has been tumbling OK but refused to heat. The heater coil and sensors test OK.
The control board relays are pictured. Only one of the four cannot be activated with current to the relay coil terminals from a 9V battery.
What brand/manufacturer is this relay? I've tried searching the numbers on the Digikey website to no avail.... -

Now that I've started using the TV, it's apparent the LED's are visible through the picture. I have reduced brightness, white and black levels, contrast, etc to zero without getting rid of the bright spots. I also reset display settings to factory levels. They are dimmer behind darker pictures and stand out clearly behind white.
I did remove all LED strips for testing during the troubleshooting process, and all tested good with a strip tester. I believe I marked all diffuser sheets for correct reinstallation.

I would agree. I chose to shotgun the entire board set to get a fresh start. The set came with everything inside the chassis including the LED strips and base I wanted. What turns out to be unused I can recoup by reselling.
My question for today is: now that I have a working chassis, do I take a significant risk of damaging the working boards by testing the suspect PS, BAXL, or tuner boards by substitution in the working chassis? I put this TV on a long hiatus so I could focus on other hobbies like nail gun repair and carpentry.
To address the unknown quality of the TV's symptom I recently bought a used kit consisting of every board, harness and LED strip, even a stand. $105! Replacing the PS, Main and Tuner boards with those from the set immediately brought the TV to life.
After a few days to let it update, burn-in and function correctly I will consider the risk of testing the original and purchased boards I already have, one by one.

Umm, how did you know? Yesterday all LEDs lit and stayed on almost 20 minutes until a power save shutdown.
Today, after careful reassembly of the panel I'm back to green/amber blinks ...."panel id mismatch". And no display-1 second to black.

Success! All LED strips worked separately under test. I sprayed all connections with contact cleaner and powered up the TV. Backlights and green status LED come on and stay on.

Turns out the forced update was the wrong road to take. The set shows the familiar red and green LED, meaning "Error of panel id" from the common chassis service manual.
Ignoring that, I went into service mode and actually got the service screen....for about two seconds, then black screen and the six-blink red code. This is a solid, repeatable fault. So the panel does have an issue, probably an LED strip. Ordering an LED tester online.

Time to rename this thread "Annoying KDL-40W600B".
I bought a tested BAXL board off electroparts. (See post #8 in this thread) Installed, the TV only showed a menu once, for a second. The forced firmware update with USB took forever and the USB drive showed no data access. Its' LED never blinked.
I've chatted with Sony tech support. They walked me through a power reset and concluded the TV had hardware issues.
