Re: U2F security dongle from scratch
The FIDO Universal 2nd Factor (U2F) is an open authentication standard that allows online services to augment the security of their existing password infrastructure by adding a strong second factor to user login.
Are there any users in here with experience?

Anyone in here with knowledge of the components to assemble a USB / BT U2F security dongle? Or maybe phone app?

Re: The 2023 Operating System Thread
OUCH..... I thought I used old stuff.
Daily driver is W10 22H2. I fix computers for my daily bread and W11 is a no go. Just more MS snooping and all the GD ads......just say NO. This has become nothing more than a personal info gathering machine... At least I know how to stop them from snooping in W10....I think.....??

Re: ROG Front Base repair
I wish I had something that took those kind of pictures. What is it? Otherwise I have no clue what kind of thing you are talking about and probably nobody else can troubleshoot your issue until you post so MODEL NAMES AND NUMBERS for the thing in your pictures. Assuming that little lack dot it the controller, and then you should check the ribbon cables for damage. Assume that your MB plugs into that broken female socket, the socket is not the issue unless the contacts are damaged inside. It looks like to me the CONTACTS for that connector are on the side...Last edited by captainKKK; 01-08-2023, 05:01 PM.

Re: Inspiron 530S - boot issue
Mark this one as a tribute to Badcaps forums as fixed. After tear down the PS the second time , I found a 2200uf 10v cap hiding deep inside, that was just barely pouching at the top and after replacing this 10 cent cap, it has worked perfectly for 10 reboots and 8 hours of operation. Never think that ONE bad cap will not fix your issues.

Re: PC Win 10 random freezes help
I briefly read the previous posts. My first reaction is that it is overheating. Try opening the device manager and delete everything in there and not reboot when prompted and then get as far as you can and reboot and let it find everything again. Start at the bottom and do not delete the usb or the kybd or mouse until last.... Otherwise does EVERYTING work on your computer? Nothing flaky like the net adapter or sound or wifi if built in?

Before you begin, follow the Safety Precautions When Working with Electronic and Electrical Equipment.
Turn off the computer and disconnect the power cable from the computer.
Locate the password reset jumper (PSWD) on the system board.
Remove the jumper plug from the password jumper-pins.
Power on without the jumper plug to clear the password.
Wait until the desktop is loaded and then shut...Last edited by captainKKK; 01-07-2023, 09:34 AM.

Inspiron 530S - boot issue
The green light on the PS is on when plugged in and the orange light on the motherboard is lit but there is no response of any sort when I press the power button on the front. The led on the power button does not light and there is no beeping. What I have tried is shorting the PSU with a paper clip from the green wire to the adjacent black wire in the 24 pin plug and the PSU fan turns on and the CPU fan starts at max speed. With the CPU fan still at high speed, I remove the CPU four pin power connector (12v black and brown wires), from the motherboard and when I am testing the voltage diagonally...Last edited by captainKKK; 01-06-2023, 07:36 PM.

Re: Trying to figure out what part of my Samsung PN60E550 is defective
Show us a very good closeup of the entire LJ92-01859A Y-MAIN BOARD on the LEFT. Pay particular attention to everything in the upper left corner of that board and give us a close up of that corner, including everything from the transformer, out to the left edge and down to the center of that board.

Re: Gophert Power Supply and testing led problems
So, back to the LED bulb. I did the same thing and for each bad LED, I just soldered those over and continued until the next burned out and did the same again and nw there are only 4 working. So I soldered two wires and used the bulb as my inverter to light a strip of leds. The wires put out 57vdc but not much power.

Svargo asked and I offered what had already been discussed. There is no Hijacking, Threats or rubbish, just opinions. That "rubbish" as you call it was published by the manufacturer. Sorry you are offended, ESPECIALLY by his guide in #17. Re: LG TV shuts of (70uh6350ub)
