I think I have my problem narrowed down a little more. I have a SONY KDL-52S4100 and I put in a new Video board and a new T-con. When I have the TV on I have a Black screen/no picture but have great sound with back lighting. however If I disconnect both ribbon cables from the T-con to the screen IC boards when OFF. then reconnect the right one and leave the left disconnected, I turn on the TV and have great picture on that half of the screen. Then, with the TV on I plug in the other ribbon cable to the t-con and the whole screen goes dark. I have not opened the TV more then getting to the boards on this TV, but others I have torn all the way down. I believe from this that my problem is the LEFT IC board, at lest I think it is called that. any more Ideas would be great.

Re: SONY KDL-52S4100 Half screen dead.
What happens when you only have the left connected?
Does this happen with the older TCON?
-Probably wouldn't connect/disconnect while on to reduce shorting possibilities.
Picture of the TCON (or what you mean by left IC board) may be helpful too by using the manage attachments feature. -
Re: SONY KDL-52S4100 Half screen dead.
Ok I got it fixed. If I just had the left T-con cable in Still no Picture, So I took the TV apart down to just the screen and found nothing. So I put it back together but half way I decided to put it together where I can test it. "test it without most of the screws back in. And then I got great picture. so I put pressure on the screen edges and the left side like 75% up from the bottom would kill the whole picture if like something grounded out. so I pop out that part of the screen and reset the tv. "reset by just turning it off then back on" and I would have the picture again. so I put a spacer there and put it back together. so far seems to be working. If I knew then what I know now I could have saved alot of money getting parts that where most likely not bad. But I saved this TV from the trash pile it was in.Comment

Re: SONY KDL-52S4100 Half screen dead.
I'm guessing a bad panel? I had a 46" sony with this no picture backlight on problem also. Sometimes the screen would go black especially if I put pressure on both ends of the tv. (Like twisting it as if it was on a swivel stand) The picture would turn off immediately after and it only comes back on when I turn it off and back on. Sometimes double pictures would come up also.Comment

Bud looks like you are putting pressure on the left most tab, was that causing the right side picture to go out??Comment

by ChrissygizmoHello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same... -
by AudezeI have a 2019 75" x950g, and while playing a movie, the screen suddenly went dark in a weird way, where it faded towards one corner into being fully black. Now the TV turns on, and the backlight comes on, but there is nothing displayed except black. Sound still comes through the TV speakers, and i have tried doing a hard reset using the volume - and power buttons while plugging the display back in, but it did not fix it. I can confirm that pressing buttons on my remote is still doing "something" because I'm hearing sound still, even though the screen is black.

by Rav_tangleHi all , thanks for having me & I think this has been asked before but my case seems a bit odd.
I have a MacBook Pro , board 820-2915a and it turns on , chimes etc etc , keyboard lights up, fans spins , can turn caps lock on/off but screen is dead.
Iv tried the resets , shine torch through back logo , nothing , it seems the screen has no power. If I plug charger , it charges but if I disconnect battery it displays green light but won't turn on. Iv tried screen on with another board & it works & seems I'm not getting any voltage at pin 2 , next to ground pin .

by dvu0627I have a Sony Smart TV XBR65X900H that started to have horizontal lines on the right side of the screen (see attached picture). When I played video on Youtube green horizontal line at regular intervals(1/4") across the screen.
I replaced the T-Con board but the lines are still there.
I believe this issue is from the Main Board. Before I replace the Main board, I wanted to seek advise if this is the problem from the Main board or something else?
Thank you for the help.... -
by NeilMcGHello all,
First time posting, so please be gentle 😂
HP Elitebook 850 G2 Win 10 with Intel HD Graphics 5500.
Screen dead, but booting.
I connected it to an external monitor via both VGA & Display Port outputs and external monitor works fine, nothing with F4 or detecting another screen in settings.
Got a replacement panel, still dead & still displayed to external screen as before.
Removed CMOS & left it. CMOS reconnected, all as before, no panel, external monitor works.
Got replacement cable... - Loading...
