I was wondering myself about that.
Maybe they don't want to take the whole screen out.

Re: Westinghouse LD-4655VX - My First LED

I think I have the same problem with the same model, but wanted to see if you could guys could clarify something for me. About 30% of the LED bar on the left side lights up and the rest is dark. Could that happen if its the cable? or is the cable issue an all or nothing (the whole LED is dark).

I have it apart right now and am going to try to expose a new end on the existing cable and try that, but not sure if it could be my LED that is not working instead.

      Hope that makes sense...thanks.

I'm looking for a left side LED strip for the Westinghouse LD-4655VX. I don't see any on ebay right now, anyone have one that works?

Why are you replacing the strip instead of the cable? Are you sure the strip itself is bad?

yeah, the clip on the LED strip is shot. I don't think that's repairable is it?

Please, please, please, help! I found the same problem as described on this post and I did replace both ribbon cables on my tv. The problem is that the tv still doesn't display anything! I even ordered a new board and power supply and still nothing. I do get the red light indicating there's power when I try powering it on with the remote but still nothing displays on the darn thing. I try disconnecting one side and power on, nothing. Next side, power on, nothing. Seems everyone's have fixed theirs with just the cables. Mine's being stubborn. Anyone else with ideas? Thx in advance.

Do you see burn marks on the main board, where the panel LED connections go out?

Re: Westinghouse LD-4655VX - My First LED

Fixed one of these last night. Had to relocate the left cable a couple times but it moves quite a bit under the panels so it wasn't that bad. I used diagonal pliers (dikes) to snip the cable clean and then attempted to use a dremel with the sanding bit on it, but kept cutting through the traces. I then put a wire brush end on the dremel and, at lowest speed, was able to carefully burnish off enough of the plastic to expose just the traces in the wire. I then reattached the blue header (that gives it the friction to hold into the fitting on the LED panel, and reinserted it. Voila, all lights work. I did manage to crack the led header wire holder, but I put a couple drops of superglue on it to hold it in place and after putting the whole thing back together, its still working great.

I'm also working on three of these model Westinghouse and all three have bad ribbons. I was wandering if there was a tool to buy to properly cut and strip this cable type. I will prefer not to buy 6 cable from Thailand and buy the tool if the price is right.

I'm pretty sure that's what the service manual calls for to support the screen.

I have just cut them and by hand I have sanded them down. Then, I relocate the ribbon cables, to reach the connectors.

I will try that tonight, I was using a razor blade, trying not to cut the wire, but end up doing so. I have a dremel tool with the sanding wheel, I might go that route too.

You don't need a dremel. With a machine you don't "feel" what is going on.

I found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display...

                                            Hey All!

Long time forum member here with a problematic laptop issue!

I got a RZ09-0196 with a bloated battery (still worked and charged fine) I pulled the old cell pack out and installed a new cell pack in its place.

The laptop would not power on with the new battery installed without the power supply being plugged in.

When booting into Win10 (all up to date BTW) I saw the battery icon with 49% plugged in not charging.

TL;Dr version, old battery worked, charged but was bloated, installed a new non OEM replacement, laptop/windows...

Hi Team - just joined to see if anyone can offer some expertise in diagnosing an issue with a TV.

I've done a few hours googling and youtubing but just seeing if anyone has any insight here. I got a 55" Samsung UE55MU6470U which seems to boot loop and then after 10 mins will boot, work for a few minutes, then turn off and repeat.

Whilst it's on into the normal Samsung menu/boot screen it looks perfect - so I can't see there being any screen issues. I've seen lots of videos with taping across clock lines to diagnose which particular one may be an issue but i don't...

                                            Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

                                            Symptom:
                                            No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
                                            No sound at all.

                                            What I tried:
                                            1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...

                                            Hello,

I know some might say... just buy another one. Sell it as parts..!

So had this AMP for quite some time. Recently I saw light smoke coming out of the AMP. Had my fire extinguisher close by. Just kidding. Turned immediately all devices off from mains.
Let things cool a bit, and opened up the amp device. I clearly saw on the main board which hosts the 5X amp (5.1), 3 10 ohms 1W resistors had their leads looking black, while the rest of the remaining 2 x 10 ohms were brownish as being installed from factory.

Spent some time downloading the Service...
