Re: 37LG6000 replaced fuse but now cant change input or use remote

just retested and i can use the remote for about 2 seconds as the back light comes on and also the buttons, the white led goes from bright white to dim then it doesnt do anything, ive tried putting aerial in and a scart input and that does nothing either, and there isnt enough time to change the input to check if a picture shows up

i have included 2 more pics, as you can see the menu comes up, but then freezes after a couple of seconds on start up, ill will check the voltage regulators tonight to see if there ok

first picture is when switched on, then other pic is me pressing the input button on start up, i tried the power button thing....nothing happened...

Might be corrupted firmware. Does TV have USB?

yes it does but i cant find a firmware update or instructions from LG website

i have managed to get it to tune DTV but it froze just after it got to 100%, so gonna try and get to factory reset settings if i can

i have seen some firmware updates available to download but not from LG so wasnt sure if i should download it?

LG service menu - Try pressing "OK" on remote while pressing "OK" on TV.

I think I just mentioned the one voltage regulator but there are several on that same board
one has the same number as 1001 but cant read the others.

There are also fuses on the other boards as well as the power supply one you replaced - did you
              check them all.

Just checked regulators 2 78R33 there ok, working ok, there is another 1 a 78R05 that's got 12v in but only 400mV out, and also the 400V on the power supply is only reading 275v

                    What 400V regulator???

78R05 is probably the problem. I will check if schematics are available.

I'm on my phone at the minute so can't look at the 78R data sheet to check output Mrs is on computer!

400v from PSU that goes to the other PSU is only reading 275v dc, not sure if that's gonna matter to be far if the back light is working and TVs powering up

Yes, schematics are available - THANK you LG -

Schematics at end - 78R05 only powers "CI" slot for Freeview, and has ON/OFF control pin. Check ON/OFF pin is good. Even if it failed, it should only affect the CI slot not everything else.

                            right, i can get the right board i.e part number....but its from a 42" not a 37"

if i was to load the Firmware that i have for the 37" into the new board when it arrives would it work? or would i still need to go into service menu and make adjustments?

It might work fine. You may need to change panel settings. However, you cannot guarantee it will work perfectly.

I don't know if you'd need to swap firmware (I'd doubt it); but if you did, I would have no idea how, other than swapping the flash chips themselves.

the online shop said they couldnt accept the return if i changed settings in service mode and it didnt work, so its not worth the risk given the fact the board is £40

might as well wait a bit and see if the right one comes up

I would just stick it up on eBay for the price you bought it for and write it off as one you couldn't fix - I've had a few. I put the Samsung LE32N73BD up and it was gone in two hours for £45 - couldn't believe it!

This happen because you are measuring it the wrong way. To check the 400V you should use the primary ground, the hot side, be careful, the hot side is not isolated.
