Hello everyone
A friend bring me a same TV with the same problem. Began 2 months ago, shut down by itself after a while and after 2-3 hours was operational again. Since 1 week, TV was completed dead and never power up again, so yesterday bring it to me.
Symptoms are like PACMYC's problem:
1.Disconnecting the IR LED connector -> PSU relay click
2.With connected IR LED, PSU relay do nothing
3.PIN 5 voltage is 3.3 steady when is not connected, 3.0-3.2 flashing when its connected.
At service manual says at page 27:
Code:Error 18 (1V2-3V3-5V too low). All these supplies are generated by the DC/DC supply on the SSB. If one of these supplies is too low, protection occurs and blinking LED LAYER error 1 = 2 will be displayed automatically. In SDM this gives LAYER error 2 = 18.
I think that SSB board is faulty, not PSU or IR LED board, something had to do with software protection of this board and 3V3 standby power nor signal.

Just be careful when testing with connector 1M95 disconnected, see my post #54
Code:I ran the TV with the 3V3 stdby line to led panel control disconnected (without reconnecting it after the TV has started).. Something must have happened because I now I cant start the TV at all. The background light lits up for a second and then TV goes dead.

Still nothing from me, the only findings are (dont remember where i read it) :
Code:Fee Q529.1E SSB used in many LCD TVs PHILIPS, but, unfortunately, in the past, they have become massively fail. The cause of their damage are substandard planar transistors. The purpose of these field-effect transistors is stabilized power supply (1.2 V, 2.5 V and 3.3 V) for the different controllers. Most often burned transistors responsible for 3.3 volts, transistor after 95% of the crashes controller PNX. The repair of these boards complex and not always a positive result, and we urge you not to try to repair themselves. For the repair of this unit requires the IR station, stencils, balls ... So the problem is shown in LCD TVs PILIPS in case of failure of payment SSB Q529.1E 1. TV does not turn on, blinks 3 or 2 times 2. TV does not turn on the red light 3. Stripes on the screen, the sound is normal

hi again,
maybe i should have read this thread more carefully. after measuring and experimenting, i finaly changed capacitor "2170" to 1000uF 25V on the main power supply.
until now everything seems to be working fine for me to ........ :-)

well,........
it was working as long as i dindn´t touch that fu...ing keyboard panel.......
now i inserted a delay circuit wich delays the ir/led board´s 3.3V from "sucking" immediately. this gives the power supply enough time to power up normally.
i know, this is not how it´s supposed to be done, but it works. the keyboard panel stil has some malfunctions, but i don´t care about that.Last edited by schlickbert; 04-11-2013, 04:04 PM.Comment

I got the TV running again!I had several film capacitors in suspicion. Namely, 2247, 2112, 2165, and 2179 since two of them (2165, 2179) are in the standby circuit. The other two I just exchanged with. And with success!

Same problem with my TV !
Philips 42PFL7403D/10, red light blinking - 2 blinkings.
On the board, I do not see anything explode or burn.
When connected to electricity, the red light flashes twice and stops and again twice...

Which chassis do you have?
Take a look at the sticker on the back of your device, it's specified there.
There seems to be either a Q529.1E LA or a Q529.1E LC chassis for this model, whatever the difference is.
That post you are replying to was from almost five years ago, good luck with that.
I think he was helpfully referring to the PCB layout index with his four-digit codes, because that's how they are listed in the Q529.1E LA service manual (instead of them being specified there as C2247 for example).
If you have that chassis too then you can download the service manual from this page and do a text-search on each of those codes.
If you get a hit on the circuit diagram index first, search again for the PCB layout index.Comment

In that case, download the service manual and press Ctrl-F in Adobe Reader to text-search for the component codes.
You'll get a hit on the page below, here you can see that 2247 has a reference to grid location A4 on the PCB layout, and that is where you find the component, or at least the upper left corner of it.
But before you start replacing components, you could investigate what the built-in diagnostic on the device can tell you.
You are getting layer-1 error code 2 right now which is pretty broad.
You can enable hardware SDM to see what layer-2 error code you'll get, which will be more specific.
Take a look in section 5.2.1 in the service manual, it explains how you can enable SDM by hardware:
I think it refers to the two vertically aligned pads on the right.
Then you can skip ahead to section 5.5 that covers error codes, there you will find table 5-2 that describes the different error codes that you can receive, and there is also further informative descriptions about the different error codes in that section:
Finally, section 5.6 describes how to interpret the blinking LED into the error codes.

Problem is that it does not turn on. Last owner said the problem came slowly.
One day did not respond to remote, had to unplug from AC and then back and it worked. next day had to disconnect 3-4 times before it turned on.
And then it went into hours of unplugging and replugging until it turned on.
When I plug AC into tv, it does not respond to "turn on" button or anything else.
After 10-15minutes the TV starts blinking red LED twice.
So it blinks twice, then waits 3 seconds, then again twice... -
by pajdekHello, i have some issues with my laptop Lenovo Y700-17ISK (motherboard BY511 NM-A541), it started when i turn on the laptop, but the lcd wont turn on, i then connected it via hdmi to tv and screen was ok. So i thought maybe lcd stripe is faulty, i removed the bottom cover, disconnected main battery, reset the cmos by disconnecting battery for 1 min, then slighty move the lcd stripe. Conncted power supply and tuned on my laptop, the lcd turn on, it started to load os, then it turn off, after a second it turn on, then after like 3 seconds turn off again, and so on. Removed power supply, waited...

I have a Philips 55PUS6804/12 TV. It turns on and off instantly (backlight flash). I personally think it's a backlight issue (faulty LEDs). Could you help me confirm my diagnosis?
I've checked and the T-CON seems to be fine. I disconnected one ribbon cable at a time at the bottom, but the problem persists.
The Ambilight works perfectly and stays on.
No sounds.

I have a Philips tv where the two main fuses are blown. I found a bad cap. I removed it, and now it seems to work. But i have to replace the cap. I do not have the exact same one at home. What's the purpose for it and what values can i use instead?
Its placed across the Drain and Source on a N/Channel MOS
The blown one is 101K, 1KV (check picture). I have 221K, 1KV at home, can i use that?... -
