Problem solved! Was the ME region on BIOS that need clearing!
I dont know if i allowed to post an external link but
i use a tool "Easy Intel Clean Me Region" and "Intel ME Firmware Database"

  • HP G72 turning off randomly

    Hello everyone!

Laptop is a G72-b10sv. Had come again in the past with the common Ati 5470 gpu problem. Did a reflow and last about a year with every day of light use. Because of the simple use needed, i convert the board to UMA, transfering the two resistors(RI55 to RI51 and RI53 to RI56 and clearing the jumper PJ19. Also replace the thermal paste and the thermal pad on HM55.
Install a new ssd and begun the windows installation from scratch, all went as it should, install everything and after an hour the first turn off occurs.
After that, it turns off completely randomly,...

  • Re: Asus A15HC shorted CPU voltage

    Thanks for info tomodachi
I dont see any cracks or discoloration under microscope, do you see it often in your lab in that particular mobo?

But i found that this Pegatron motherboard used by Turbox, Casper, Novatech and MSI CX640 laptops. Their onwers had exactly the same problem, no Nvidia device shown at device manager, and the problem was solved after bios update.

Im thinking of unlock all settings in BIOS with AMIBCP editor and play out with settings, i have already check bios files i already tried with MMTool...

  • Re: Asus A15HC shorted CPU voltage

+VGA_VCORE is stable at 1 volt, update again bios for 4th time to version 303(final), and after some windows updates, distortion stopped completely! So one problem left, why system not seeing the nvidia gpu..
At bios there is no setting for gpu switching, only the basics..
Now checking with AMIBCP the current bios for any hints but nothing so far..

P.S At beginning, and before figure out that bios was the problem, i had move resistor R2134(DGPU_PRSNT to GND) to R2126(DGPU_PRSNT to +3VS) to force motherboard start as UMA...

  • Re: Asus A15HC shorted CPU voltage

GPU heatsink is attached to CPU heatsink, i see if can remove it. VGFX_CORE voltage rise to 0.45V at booting time and goes to zero when windows logo ends and desktop appears.
I'll search for another cpu, now has i5-2430M(Sandy), already try an i5-3210M(Ivy) but not supported(no boot at all), so i'll searching for a Sandy..
Distortion like some parts on installation dialogs are black, or missing, at taskbar icons a little flashing, when i do a refresh shown ok for a while and if maximize a program starts again. I'll upload a screenshot...

  • Re: Asus A15HC shorted CPU voltage

Hello both of you! Another problem appears after windows 7 installation completes. Cannot see Nvidia GT520M in device manager, like it dosent exist. Flash another Bios for Casper with filename "CASPER A15HE(A15HC REV 2.1)nvida gpu MAIN" but problem is the same, no Nvidia device id. With Intel gpu drivers, i have a little distortion on screen, so troubleshooting is still in progress with this..any ideas?

    Hello again

One year past and decide to start troubleshooting it again, finally the problem was from bad bios, i had test that before, read bios and verify commands was success, at hex editor was looking ok so i move on to this, but now after i reprogram it, as khaahk suggest, system is up and running
Thanks everyone for help, problem solved!!

  • Re: Toshiba Regza 32AV635D LCD vertical lines

    Hello again

Just receive the Tcon replacement board, problem is exactly the same..
So not a Tcon problem..panel or mainbord left for checking..
Connecting an external RCA source, sound is ok, image appears 100% correct only 1cm on the top of lcd, rest of the area has problem..
As you can see from the pictures..any ideas to isolate the problem?...

  • Re: Asus A15HC shorted CPU voltage

    Hello again

I also attach voltages of each pin when power is on(before shutting off and on loop)

Why pin 1 and pin 48 has low voltage, comparing with pin 12 and pin 13?
Maybe the reason for no VR2 output?...

  • Re: Asus A15HC shorted CPU voltage

Was a short before changing the U8000(ISL95831) at first time i found the fault. Has zero ohms with and without CPU. But after U8000 replacement, was not shorted again ever since. I mean now its ok, 9 ohm with cpu, 1.1 Mohm without. Current goes to 1.17A and before shut off draw 1.15A

Yes, both voltages are present after power on!

  • Re: Asus A15HC shorted CPU voltage

    Hello again

Just receive and replace the three mosfets(Q8011,Q8012,Q8013) and also replace again U8000(ISL95831). Problem is the same, power it on, pwr led turns on for 2-3 seconds, turn off for 2-3 seconds and power on again for another loop. Nothing on lcd. After power removal pin 38 and pin 39 measured shorted and after a minute measured again and have 930 Ohm resistance.

Any ideas before quit on this?

    Hello VladG

Check resistance of these pins on a working motherboard, different IC(ISL95836) ,different pin assigment but the same pin usage, and all are low resistance, so its normal..

    Any other ideas, anyone?

  • Re: Toshiba Regza 32AV635D LCD vertical lines

    Thank you both for replies

Forgot to mention that, was the first thing i tried, cleaning both of them with IPA, apply gentle pressure to LVDS and TCON connectors and ribbons, even on timing ic of TCON to see if something change, with negative results.

@jbfr_54 My concern is that when i open menu, nothing change on screen, on other lcds i had repair with tab bonding problems, when menu key is pressed, you see a change in colors or shapes.
I am not sure if same pattern exist on all tabs bonding...

  • Toshiba Regza 32AV635D LCD vertical lines

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!

First problem of the set was the PSU went dead after a power surge. Toshiba service center says that new PSU will cost too much and the owner bring it to me(we have a common friend). I order from Ebay(trustworthy seller) a exactly the same replacement PSU board(SRV2169WW-I) and now tv is powering on as it should be. BUT..
Second problem is the image on LCD. The only thing that appears is a faint square with two vertical lines at the center.
    So i wondering..
1)New psu has a problem(small chance for that)
    2)TCON board...

  • Re: Asus A15HC shorted CPU voltage

Hello mielta, thanks for reply. Next think i'll do.

Just measured again pin 38 and pin 39, now have 930 ohm resistance between them..strange..if power it up again, will be shorted if i measured again.

Btw i measured resistance to GND of all pins with CPU removed..
Low resistance at pins 4,5,6,10,19,45 is that ok?...

  • Asus A15HC shorted CPU voltage

    Hello everyone!!

Problem with laptop Pegatron A15HE, has an Asus A15HC motherboard.
    Found boardview only, no schematic.

First problem was a short on U8000(ISL95831) pin 38(PHASEG) TO GND.
So i remove it and check Q8011 for any other short between GND or phase to ugate
and found it ok. So i replace ISL95831 with a new one. Now after power on, ISL95831
pin 38(PHASEG) and pin39(UGATEG) get shorted between them(not in relation to gnd), change it again and same thing happens AFTER the first power on. When i change it, measurements between pin...

  • Re: 5930G restarts when USB is inserted

Thanks everyone for your help and support, deeply appreciate it!!

Just replace the tolkin cap as you suggested with 4x330 tantalum and problem seems SOLVED!
Still cannot believe that a cap @VCC_CORE leads to that kind of problem...
Besides that, now a shutdown command works as it should be!

    Thanks again guys!!
