I get no lights or anything when powered on, tested voltage good to filter cap, not sure where to go from here.

Re: Sylvania LC320SLX No Power-Dead
what voltage are you getting at the main filter cap?,next step is to check your output voltages against there respective marking on the pcb, write down and post i.e
pin 1, 12v- actual = 12.6v
etc ,does anything light up on the tv front?,any led?,a screen flash?,fixed so far...376 lg lcd tv's,24 onn tv;s,24 panasonic lcd,16 jvc lcd,12 marshall jcm800 amps, refurb of various disco equipment lighting, old style disco decks ,and a flymo!
----------------------------------------------
please let us know if everything works ok if your tv gets fixed, as it will be and aid for anyone else having the same problem and wishing to fix it.it would save people clogging up this site with topics that are duplicated, and can be found easily using the search function.,and taking up valuable space.enjoy your fixed tv!,hopefully! -
Re: Sylvania LC320SLX No Power-Dead
174v at main filter cap.
No nothing lights up no LED, no screen light at all, just DEAD.
This TV is a little different then the normLast edited by kevinm34232; 07-16-2012, 02:57 PM.Comment

Re: Sylvania LC320SLX No Power-Dead
hi - have you read these threads.
As with one of them your pictures are not really clear enough for trouble shooting.

Check the screen panel is not cracked and look for shorted diodes. Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: Sylvania LC320SLX No Power-Dead
Panel is not cracked Im checking diodes now.
Well found some info on same set dead with problem being D639 (43-volt zener diode), not sure how to test it though.Last edited by kevinm34232; 07-16-2012, 04:22 PM.Comment

Re: Sylvania LC320SLX No Power-Dead
Test forward and backward.
Good diode measures 400 - 700 one way, OL/"1" the other.
Bad diode measures zero or nearly zero both ways, or OL/"1" both ways.
These TVs are really cheaply made - using a poorly engineered self-oscillating power supply so lots of things can go wrong. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Sylvania LC320SLX No Power-Dead
From SM:
Is the AL+33v line voltage normal?
Not sure where to check this but no voltage at D638.
C605 D601 D602 D603 D604, C638 D638 D639. Caps are good, diodes seem to test OK although thought Zener diodes tested differently.
Not tested Q601 Q602 T601 because not sure how.Comment

Re: Sylvania LC320SLX No Power-Dead
to read the al33volt line see diagram attached if your voltage is mising one common issue on this chassis is for R618 to open make sure set unplugged desolder one end out of circuit and read on resistance scale for 390k reading see attached of resistor circledLast edited by RON_CET; 07-16-2012, 07:11 PM.Ron Driver,BSEE,CET,ISCET,NESDAComment

Re: Sylvania LC320SLX No Power-Dead
Per Ron diagram, do you also get any DC voltages on D646, D633, D640 (just move the red probe to the banded side of the diode)?Never stop learning

Re: Sylvania LC320SLX No Power-Dead
Back it at tonight..
Bud, no voltages at those diodes.
So I pulled 1 leg of R618 and checked resistance. I get no reading (.0L). I'm guessing that means it's bad?Comment

Re: Sylvania LC320SLX No Power-Dead
Can I use any of these:

Also what would be a good resistor for discharging large capacitors? Or is there another way?Comment

Re: Sylvania LC320SLX No Power-Dead
if no diodes are shorted ,then using pin 8 of T601 as ground read dc voltage @ Drain of Q601 should have 134 vols DC when set plug in if you do have the 134 v there then check for 5.3v on gate of Q601 those two voltages must be present to kick start Q601 into oscillation to get the power supply runningLast edited by RON_CET; 07-17-2012, 08:41 PM.Ron Driver,BSEE,CET,ISCET,NESDAComment

Re: Sylvania LC320SLX No Power-Dead
Ok I have 4.6v at gate and 0v at drain using hot ground, so I guess I need to check diodes on primary side?Comment

by Francesc V.Hi:
i am trying to repair this Christmas lights from my parents. They are incandescent lights, no led lights.
I have tried with 12V a 24V small lights that I found in Aliexpress but is obvious that are not the right ones. They last microseconds connected. Do they blow because of Amps or Volts?
If I measure the Amps in the string........it's only 90mA. If I measure the Volts in the "green box"......it's between 0 and 190V, but doing a little bit of maths from the number of bulbs in series.......it's only about 6V per lamp.

by bialagHello,
I have a Lenovo here that does not want to power on. The motherboard appears to be clean, no sign of corrosion or obvious fried components. When plugged in, I see 3 blinking lights and then off. It would cycle the 3 blinking lights every 10 seconds or so as long as I have the adapter plugged in. Amp meter shows 20 volts, 0.224 amps, no fan spin, red light indicator near the charge port.
Thermal camera shows a section of the motherboard that is warmer than the rest. It is near the connector labels JRTC1 (CMOS battery). Diode measurement to ground for pin 1 = OL,... -
by gabrielA7Does not turn on, lights 3 of the 4 LEDs and turns off and stays like this, presses the power and repeats.
I saw that the room LED lights up only when the screen is connected, so quiet.
We have all the power supplies, even processor, 1.8V
One thing I found strange, it has a very low resistance in the Vcore is giving 1 Ohm , work with notes and such, I know that this is normal in some processors but with this resistance only take video card so found it strange.
I suspect that there may be some leak in the processor.
Anyway, when I press the power, it... -
by evilkittyMy Mom bought some cheap motion sensor lights on wish... then complains about about batteries and this thing chews though them, well it uses 4 AAA batteries and a pack of rechargeable ones is about 13 USD
well since it uses 4 AAA and rechargeable are 1.2v and non-recharge at 1.5 this thing must work with 4.8-6v, I'll shove a USB cable on it, infant i will use a broken phone charge cable... dam this thing uses 430 mA and they made it battery powered...
lets ignore the fact that i thought the board fit both ways... and the wire color is reversed going to the board...-
