Re: Vizio E321VL
Decided to check the Vizio light on the front. It is steady Orange where I had no light before. Must be some progress. However, there are no backlights or nothing changes when I push the power button. At this time all the boards are connected to each other.Last edited by killian6pk; 06-04-2012, 01:26 PM.Have you ever stopped to think and then forget to start thinking again?

Re: Vizio E321VL
Ok Now you have the DC standby voltage of 170Vdc, since when you turn the power switch of the TV and the voltage did not go up to 400Vdc, it can mean two things: It is not getting the PS_ON from the Main board or the PFC IC circuits are not working. I will need you to get the P/N of the PFC IC and the SMPS IC so we check the VCC pins.Last edited by budm; 06-04-2012, 02:15 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Vizio E321VL
@TOM, the cap should be OK, since the Didoe is put in backward, the diode never conducts. You can see the diagram I made.
Killian, you may want to recheck all the parts you have installed, just to be sure.Last edited by budm; 06-04-2012, 02:16 PM.Never stop learning

The Cap is fine, if you look at the diagram, when you put in that Diode backward, the diode was never turn on, it was in reverse bias mode. you are OK, no need to change that cap.Never stop learning

Re: Vizio E321VL
OK, I will look at the pictures tonight, I cannot find any info on that PFC IC P/N L100 either, it may be difficuit to figure out the VCC pin of that IC, will see after I look at the pictures.
OK, picture#3 post 54, CN101 Pin 11 is PS_ON PIN, please check the voltage onthat pin, it should be around 3VDC or higher when TV is switched on.Last edited by budm; 06-04-2012, 03:57 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Vizio E321VL
If you keep the board oriented in the direction of the picture and look at C608 in the upper left of the board. Go to Buds redline of the picture and look above the number 4 that he placed on the picture. The second location is on the far middle right of the board next to a large black arrow at D331 also look at the scratch across the black arrow to see if that could be a problem. Copper is showing thru. Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: Vizio E321VL
OK, you do not have the PS_ON signal from the main baord when you trun on the TV, that is why the PFC and the 12/24 Vdc power supply do not turn on. So we need to find out where the fault is on the main board.Never stop learning

by m1ch43lzmHi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic... -
Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by HakuuHi There,
This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.
After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

by jb_BakHey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.
Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
CN6401
Pin 01 NC
Pin 02 NC
Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
Pin 04 "N/C"
Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
Pin 06 "GND": N/C
Pin 07 "AC_OFF"... -
by sam_sam_samI did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow
This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board
