That does seem very suspicious. It looks too low. It could be a problem with the main board. Is the +5.4V output on the connector doing anything?

Ok my mistake. Had the meter on ac. Bear with me, I haven't done much work with one.

Ps on is 17.4 then drops to around 2.5 when it clicks then goes right back up to 17.5. Similar with the 5.4v.

17.5V??? Is the battery good in your meter? Can you test an AA battery.

But for now assuming "17.5V" means a logic high signal, this means the main board is telling the power supply to turn off. So it is probably a problem with the main board.

17.5V is definitely wrong then. And your meter seems good. I can't figure out how the PSU would output 17.5V on the 5.4V output without blowing something up on the main board - are you definitely measuring the right pin? I know some Samsung TVs have 16-20V outputs for the audio amplifiers.

Hi - can you post a pic of the two connectors legends.
One end looks like it says 1.8V but is it 18V in which case 17.5 is close.

Also here is a samsung plasma training manual - not for your set but some of the tests might be valid. Unplug
                both sustain boards -tried that?

I did try unplugging the x and y boards earlier.

Is that not the main board in the lower right?

The main board is the board with the inputs on it and the multiple heatsinked processors.

I think you are checking 18V pin, not PSON - it might be on a different row (awkward if so) - maybe try using a small wire and poking it in the pin connector and checking with a meter using that wire?

Ok, I am dumb. Ps on is at 0.12 then goes to 3.24 right after the click then back to 0.12. Pin right under it is at 5.25 and stays there.

All of the 5.3 pins are at 5.25 and go to zero after the click then back to 5.25

Yes damn-it its a doublerow socket thats why he got 17.5 for pson and 5V.
I think a wire stuck in is the only way

Ps on voltage is supposed to stay up right? Its not, so is it the power supply or main board that is the problem?

Yes, the PS_ON should be steady at 3Vdc or more.

This indicates the main board is shutting down the power supply, for some reason.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Samsung TV won't turn on ... keeps cycling the power relay on & off

                                            Hi All,
First time posting here ... my name is Kevin but my friends call me Journey.
I have a Samsung 75" LCD model UN75RU8000FXZA that I don't remember the original fault other than it wouldn't power up anymore.
After it sat for many month's I decide to look at it again. The motherboard seemed to have power regulation issues. After much fussing I decided to just get a new MB.
It came a few days ago and I installed it now just cycles the power relay on and off ... when on the backlights light up and then dim and then relay kicks off and the whole things starts again....

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                                            by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

This Samsung combined power supply and inverter was replaced a while ago from a Samsung 37inch LE37B530P7W TV. However I would like to repair this one.
I have replaced the Mosfets Q1820 and Q1821 ( FDPF7N50U) which were both blown and the fuse FM802S. The schematic for this power supply that is attached doesn't relate to this power supply as the driving transistors and diodes are D1830, D1831, D1832, D1833, Q1811 & Q1810 are nowhere on the schematic!
Does anyone know what the components for D1830, D1831, D1832, D1833, Q1811 & Q1810 should be? I ask as I did change the Mosfets...

Samsung Chromebook Pro missing 1.2V power rail and no boot

I am trying to repair my Samsung Chromebook Pro. There is no boot. Upon turning on, the screen is blank and there is no backlight. Power LED is blue. I tried refresh with power and esc refresh with power with no avail.

When I measure the 1.2V rail, it is pulsing. It will jump from 0 to 1.2V then 0 again. I replaced the 2 MOSFET and even power management IC and it is the same. Resistance from midpoint between mosfet to ground is 0.5 kOhm but it will show 250 Ohm first before jumping to 0.5 kOhm. So it feels like it was charging up some capacitor. Since MOSFET and IC was replaced, I...
