Re: Philips LCD 32PFL6305 inverter sometimes hard to start

Made the psu modification according to bulletin. Seems to do the job.
No problem to start up the inverter, I'm still a little "quiet" and won't shout out any horrays yet, as I've told before this set can work fine over 50 times then suddenly refuse the same number of times. Anyway, my kids will perform this "field test" and we will know shortly if something is not working properly, for sure

Thank you. I did a revision and it worked perfectly. Sorry for my English.

I don't remember uploading it. If Ron would like to contribute anything it would be much appreciated... he can send me a PM. Currently only I can add documents to the site, it is managed using FTP and text files...

HI, is it possible to order new board for this TV? I`m having the same problem.
                  Thanks.

I did this and set starts every time.

Re: Philips LCD 32PFL6305 inverter sometimes hard to start

Hello to everyone! I'm new here and I've found this thread while trying to understand how to repair my lcd tv. I own a 32PFL3605H/12 that requires a lot of attempts before being able to successfully turn it on.
What happens is that the blue light on the power supply turns on, I can hear the typical arching sound like if the bulbs try to light up but nothing more than that. After a while also the blue light fades out.
If I look at the lcd panel in a very dark place, I can notice let's say a round white shadow on the middle right section of the panel, a shadow which disappears in a matter of seconds, nothing more.
I was confident it could be an issue related to capacitors from the power supply gone bad but all of them are perfectly fine.
I've made a deeper research and I've found out that many deem the IC801 guilty for this kind of issues then I've found this thread along with the very well detailed rework instructions from Ron.
Do you believe I could try to make the rework or is my problem something different? My lcd tv was manufactured on April 2010 but I don't know how to find out its manufacturing week nor the one of the power supply unfortunately.

I've to add that both the panel and the television (so I guess its motherboard) work perfectly fine WHEN I succeed in turning the television on and after when I succeed for the first time, then it is simpler to turn it on (less attempts) though it still doesn't happen on a regular basis.

Re: Philips LCD 32PFL6305 inverter sometimes hard to start

Hello again! There are news, bad ones unfortunately. I don't know if it has something to do with the fact that I've taken out the power supply and left it out of the television for a while to see if I could find the necessary parts for the rework (probably it has though I've handled it with great caution and stored it properly) but today I've tried to put the power supply in place again (without having done anything because I haven't still managed to find all the necessary parts) and now the television has changed his behaviour.
I can't see the white round shadow anymore and the screen doesn't light up anymore, no matter how many times I try. The television instead does regularly turn on and when pointing a flashlight on the screen I can see that everything works well, just no backlight.
It definitively seems an inverter problem but I don't know if it is linked with the power supply or the backlight lamps. Is it the final sign which tells me that I have to rework the power supply or did the failing power supply damage the lamps and I can throw the television away?
I hope that someone could give me at least an hint on some checks to do, I'm desperate.
