DAY11AM6E0 hard disk drive and optical disk drive not detected

Today recieved hp model 17-f100nx laptop with no power.(motherboard=DAY11AMB6E0) after that repaired +1.05v section due to faulty buck converter.after that power issue fixed and laptop turns on.But "no bootable 3f0 error displayed".so then

i checked the connectivity of ribbon=good communication with hard and motherboard

changed hard disk and checked=3f0 error persist

    sata power=+5v available

    Then checked data capacitors=all good

Then checked data lines path connectivity to pch=all good

reflashed pch bios, cleaned Me region and flashed=3f0 error still persist

Then i checked the detection of hard disk and optical disk drive at bios=so both sata devices not detecting.

so i assume it is a broken PCH Sata section.is that i am correct?

is their anyway to connect and run windows using external usb hard drive?i have tried with "WiNTouSB" software to install windows to a portable ssd hard.but that hard disk also not detected in F9 boot menu after enabling all legacy+uefi modes.so what to do?(usb data lines working perfect as external keyboard function properly)

If the USB ports are functional and your USB media (thumbdrive) is a quality one, you should be able to boot from the USB.

The USB can contain FreeDOS (we use this often); Linux; Windows.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/wi...iew=windows-11

From our experience, avoid Kingston brand USB thumbdrives - they fail to boot on many motherboards unless you perform a warm boot (CTRL + ALT + DEL) after a power on.

Lexar is great. We use the Rufus tool (recommended) to create bootable USB media. Test it with FreeDOS first and see if this DOS OS boots or not with your box.

thank you very much for valuable information. is it possible to run laptop by operating system installed to a external usb hard disk drive(usb portable hard) as this laptop internal hard drive sata section is non functional from faulty pch sata section?

If the USB ports are functional then yes, USB is an option for booting an OS. Please note that the throughput of the USB port will be slower than using the internal SATA or PCIe interconnect for the bootable media.

You can test out the boot process using the RUFUS tool + a good USB thumbdrive and a bootable OS like FreeDOS; USB live image of Linux; Windows (as per the articles from Microsoft). Not 100% sure if Windows as a complete OS will be loadable by USB but for sure they allow the USB method of installing the OS.

That is, in theory, you should be able to use the USB port #1 to install the OS onto an external USB driven target (external drive, etc.).

I'll still suggest to replace the HDD cable.

**Need Help Unlocking BIOS and Hard Drive on Dell Precision 5820 Tower**
                by federalhouse
                Hi everyone,

I'm in need of assistance with a Dell Precision 5820 Tower. The BIOS is locked with "Dell Security Manager," preventing access to the HDD-1 hard drive.

                **Background:**

I recently purchased this Dell Precision 5820 Tower from a recycler who salvages equipment from abandoned office spaces. The computer was left behind by its previous owner and was password locked. Given that it can run Windows 11, I saw this as an opportunity to upgrade my setup.

                **What I've Tried So Far:**

PC case - Hard drive rails
                by tmcw
A friend gave me his old PC case (with MB, and PSU), but no hard drive rails, he said he only used the 2.5" SSD spot inside, and used an external hard drive for data. He said that he'd have a look for the supplied rails, but I doubt he'll find them.

So I was wondering if case manufacturers used any type of standard 3.5" hard drive rail?

I'm used to the various Dell hard drive caddies or rails (and HP and Lenovo to a lesser extent), or el cheapo cases where you screw through the frame to fix the drive.

Now, the case is a CiT Gaming Case, and...

Repairing a Seagate hard drive with damaged logic board
                by karto95
                Hello everyone,

I'm currently facing an issue with my Seagate hard drive that has a damaged logic board. I've obtained a replacement logic board from a donor hard drive, but unfortunately, I'm unable to recover the BIOS of the original board due to damaged firmware. I'm wondering if it's possible to make the hard drive work with this donor logic board.

I have a CH341A programmer, so I'm hoping that it can be useful in this situation. I've attached the BIOS file .bin of the donor board for reference.

If anyone has any suggestions or experience with this...

                Apple Macbook A1707 Hard disk
                by Eleways
                Hi

I've an Apple macbook A1707 with Hdd defect.

This product don't work with a normal Hard disk, but the hard disk it's a BGA component on the logic board.

                My question is:
Can i exchange the hard disk, by desolder the bga Hard disk and replacing this?

Can i replace with a different one (es 500 gb instead of 250 gb)

This Macbook has T1 security check.

                Thanks and best regards

                Luca
