TECHNIKA LCD19DVDID-107 - Stuck in standby

Picked up 2 of these TV's with the same issue.

Thought I would share the fix with you in case you come across one of these in the future.

They both had 2 blown 25v1000uf caps that needed to be replaced. I have attached a picture of this below.

When the TV was put back together the DVD wouldn't play (something I should have checked before putting it all back together really!). I took it back apart and took out all 4 screw holding the DVD drive in to give me just enough room to move the drive out a little to clean the lens without having to remove the ribbon cables. These are glued and they hover over the power supply so I didn't want to worry about them coming loose in the future.

Put it all back together again and hey presto all up and running and the dvd is now running well. I'm actually playing some music in the background on it as I write this!

P.s I know the pictures are of the worst quality I need to get my proper camera back of my sister! Hopefully they are clear enough to give you an idea of what's going on.

Nice. Another example of cheap and rubbish supermarket TVs... Tesco looks like they chose the lowest cost OEM they could!

Yep these 2 caps fail often , They are marked on the pcb as C34 AND C49.
They go leaky usually. There is a 16 volt 680 uf close to these two, i usually
change it too even if it measures ok as it usually does.

Re: TECHNIKA LCD19DVDID-107 - Stuck in standby

          Hi,
I have a technika LCD tv model no. M19n11n02g 801 DVD combi
The other number on it is lcd19dvdid-307
I think it has umc of Slovakia boards inside as the code 9735 ( which I've been told is a umc code ) works to access the DVD region menu
I've tried vestel codes with no luck
All works fine incl analogue Tunning
In digital mode the symbol in the menu for Tunning is greyed out,so cant retune in digital mode
I've tried general reset to no avail
I would like to try a factory reset in the service menu but I can't find the code anywhere
Does anyone please know this code or recognise this fault please ?
          Cheers ,Pete

Have you seen it working on current digital tv signals a lot of these old sets were made redundant. Sometimes you have to them in non digital mode to get to the menus as they are basically non digital sets with an add on. You need the remote to do that. Easiest way might be to get a free freeview box
            on freegle or freecycle?

              Hi
              Thanks for your reply.
I have not seen it working in digital mode as it was bought second hand
In digital mode (it's an option in the menu ) it's showing all the usual channels but no signal as it was used in a different location with a different transmitter
I'm hoping a reset in the engineers menu might sort it

It will always show channels until you scan without an aerial
then it will lose all the old ones - put the aerial back in and scan again.

Have you read the handbook ??
Page 20 has a systems settings option then in that select first time setup.?

Thanks to everyone for there help
Cure is to use a one for all remote
I used the Urc 6440 which is a good one to have as it is upgrade able
Use one for all code 2426
On this particular remote the key marked text becomes the digital tv menu !
There you can do a first time install to find any new digital channels

Hi there, I'm fairly new to DYI tv fixing. I got a TECHNIKA LCD19DVDID-108 and suddenly while trying to reprogram the channels it stopped working. The screen went off and the red standby led started blinking every time I turn it on. No sound no signal and no screen light. Reading over the internet I read a common fault is a blown PSU so I bought a replacement. Surprisingly when I opened the TV set, the TV's PSU seemed ok. Nevertheless I connected the new one, (without the lamps, the new psu came with different molex connectors), however it still did not work. I'm attaching a some pics of the original PSU. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi. I have the following problem with my TV. After connecting to mains, the standby led (red) turns on, but TV is not responding to remote control or buttons on TV. After some measurements, I found out that +5 V standby voltage is present, but I dont have ON/OFF signal coming in to turn PSU on. It stays at zero volts. After looking at the schematic of the mainboard, I should get ON/OFF signal coming in at the R1402 resistor, but it stays around +3,5 V. So I removed it and I was able to turn on TV with buttons on TV, but not with remote control.

What could be the problem ? Thanks...
