I think the video board is bad too. Dunno how or where. The only other time I saw this type of thing was with a bad video board. I seem to get mostly hard-to-fix flat panel TVs... And I can't find the video board for this one.

I had an flm32 polaroid with the same problem and it was not the inverter board to my surprize.
I found the whole module on ebay for 22 dollars (working).
I never had a chance to find out what really happened because I sold it as soon as I repaired it. (still works)
I blamed it on the main board. The inverter board stays with the panel so I knew that was not the trouble.

I did not try the flashlight test and I should have.

I found a completely blown bad cap on the HD TV tuner board. Replaced it, but no difference; with the board in or out, the TV does the same thing. Removed the other tuner board and same thing. Also, I am fairly certain, due to the noise that was coming out of the transformers, that the inverter board is bad, because I have heard the same noise once before on an inverter circuit that tested fine but would fail after a few minutes. Drove me crazy figuring it out. It was part of the psu. Replaced it and that tv still works.

I'm going to do the FL test now.

Look for burnt/leaky ballast caps as shown here if it has the same LCD panel:
