Re: VIZIO VO42L No picture, No Sound

It sounds bad, the output should be the rightmost pin (tab facing upwards) + 1.25V, so in your case at least 2.5V, but it is only 2.05V.

I believe on these Vizios that U33 causes two others, U5 and U7, to also look bad - but it is only U33 at fault in this case.

Hi. First of all, thank you for this topic. I have same problem and now I check power readings. My question is. What voltage reading should be on main board fuses? Thanks

Re: VIZIO VO42L No picture, No Sound

There are two fuses on the main board, one is for 5VSTBY, and another one is for SWITCHED 12V which will not be present until the main board sends out the PS-ON signal to the power supply board to turn on the rest of the power supply.
Did you test the Voltages of the Voltage regulator ICs yet?

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
              by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

Vizio M70-C3 Half picture is bad, main board on its last leg?
              by gavric
Hello, i am working on Vizio M70-C3. It can hardly power on, it takes 15 power button presses or remote. Seems like eeprom problem that I seen before but all reading online says that this tv has power board or main board problem.

When tv powers on vizio V logo shows nice on whole screen. picture 1
When it goes into tv mode it only shows good picture on left side of screen, right is all scrabbled up. pic 2
When i start youtube picture shows on left side fine, right is all scrambled. pic 2

Vizio D50u-D1 Dead: PSU or Main Board?
              by fharris1977
Hi. Anyone who has experience with these vizio sets, which pin on this connector is the standby, the 5V pin? Trying to rule out the PSU before ordering a mainboard. I'm getting 0 Volts on all pins on this connector. Trying to jump the standby and PS ON pins to see if the PSU is functioning. Thanks in advance.

Vizio E55-C2, appears dead, no 20V, main cap always 385V, no PSon
              by DXseekerMO
I bought this Vizio E55-C2 yesterday with the complaint of completely dead, will not power on, no initial power light that trails off when plugged in. The complaint is confirmed.

The 120V protection fuse is good. The first thing I checked was main cap voltage, always at 385V. Other voltages found on the power board look like the TV is trying to tell me it's partially on? Here they are:

              Main cap…….385v stable

              1: 5VSB……….5.05v stable
              2: 5VSB……….5.05v stable
              3: ACD…………3.3v stable
              4: PS_ON…….3.3v stable...
