Got another TV headed for the dumpster the other day.
Nice TV although it has those silly One Connect input boxes.
When TV is plugged into mains you see the backlights flash on amd off a few times then you get red error flashes at the status light. Backlights 'looks' uneven at startup but i have learned that looks are deceiving and they should be tested.
When i took the back off i unplugged the mainboard and the LEDs came on and stayed on. I then tested each led with my backlight tester and their voltages and amperages all read the same. So this eliminated the backlight as a possible culprit.
I then reconnected the mainboard and disconnected the 2 LVDS ribbon cables and plugged the TV back in. The reboot error returned. I then removed the harness to the WIFI card as well as the speaker leaving only the power/control button connected to the mainboard. Reboot error still remained.
This looks like a mainboard issue. I spot tested the MB for shorts on caps but didnt see anything jump out at me.
I dont know the history of this TV.
What indi know us that it has a small defect in the corner and im not sure if it would prevent the TV from showing a good picture (or any picture at all) if i am able to solve the issue with the mainboard.
At least if i get a picture i will be able to better guage the progress of my repair.
Please let me know what you guys think.
Pictures provided.
Thanks in advance!
