    Re-capping Antec True550

    Hi All,
First off, I'd like to thank Topcat for starting this forum (and his business). Thanks also to all the very knowledgable guys who contribute. Certainly makes life easier for newbies like me just starting out on the re-capping road.
I have an Antec True550 PS which needs re-capping. It contained one Fuhjyyu 4700uf @ 10 volts (TM series) which had started leaking from the top, and had blown the bung on the bottom. There were three Fuhjyyu 3300uf @ 10 volts (TMR series), one of which had leaked at the top. All of these were located in the same area glued to one another. Are these caps a part of the 5 volt rail?
There were two Teapo 3300uf @ 16 volts (A3 series?). These were glued together in the same area.Neither were visually bad, but I'll replace them anyway. Are these caps part of the 12 volt rail?
There were two Fuhjyyu 1000uf @ 10 volts (TNR series) and one 470uf @ 16volts (TNR series). None were visually bad but I'm going to replace them. What rail are these caps associated with?
I've been looking at the replacements Topcat has in both Rubycon and Samxon and I wanted you all to help me make sure I'm getting the correct caps.
For the fu 4700uf, I'm getting the Rubycon 4700uf PX series.
For the fu 3300uf, I'm getting the Samxon 3300uf RS series.
For the teapo 3300uf, I'm getting the Samxon 3300uf 16v RS series.
For the fu 1000uf, I'm thinking about getting the Rubycon 1200uf @ 10v ZL series.
For the fu 470uf, I'm thinking about getting the Rubycon 680uf @ 16v ZL series
I approximated the uf values for the fu 1000 uf's and the 470 uf as I'd read in these forums that ultra low esr caps are not desirable. Will the larger uf values be acceptable for this power supply application?
Also, one other question, who is the maker of the two large caps? They only have an insignia of an "M within a square" on them.
    Thanks, in advance, Richard

Thanks for the heads up on the Panasonics, Scenic. Mine are both 1200uf @ 200volts.

          TA-DAaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh

For the fu 4700uf I'd use Samxon 3300uf RS series.
          Much better ripple than PX,,
,,,and kc8adu (one of the most experienced of the most experienced members here) pulled some fu 4700uF out of a new unused PSU and measured them at 3100uF, in other words the 4700 marking is bogus..

          The 1000uf and 470uf I would leave at 1000uf and 470uf.
I use FC or PW for those
Lower ESR doesn't hurt it's just not required.

There should also be a 6.3mm approx 47uF at either 25v, 35v, or 50v near center next to one of the heatsinks,, that one should go too.
I use PW or FC in 50v there.
There may be two more 6.3mm 47uF elsewhere (depends on which model Antec and I don't have notes on your specific unit.)
I use PW or FC in 50v there too.

My overall 'Antec plan of attack'.
Replace the 220uF 16v 6.3mm with VZ series.
Less than 10uF get replaced with KG series.
Everything else gets RS, PW, or FC

Many thanks to the Herald and to the Heraldic!

I'll be glad to use a 3300 where the 4700 was. Will fit a whole lot better. I accidently crushed one of the other fu 3300's getting it out. There was no escape of electrolyte so it must of been running on fumes.....
I was hoping I wouldn't have to mess with the itty bitty misc. caps but being they are f'ups, I guess I should have known better.
I will probably have a few more questions on this thread so stand at the ready, True Knight!
