NO, The ic pin 5 is hot ground, pin 4 is the vcc pin, there should be a minimum of 10.5v and likely should be around 20v on pin 4 for the ic to work. If this voltage is 0, then check if pins 4 and 5 are shorted, if there is no short then the internal startup cell is bad.

third page already, this is why I edit

Confirmed, pin 4 and 5 are shorted, along with the other except for pin 1. I will source a new one and give you feed back. Hope I didn’t damage the pin holes :s

Sorry about the number of pages..

      Thanks for the help.

If pins 4 & 5 are shorted, with the ic removed then the ic itself is bad.
If the is is bad, you need to check DM811 diode across the resistor, The resistor is a low value (0.4Ω) and sometimes it goes open but the diode shorts so it looks ok but the only way to check both the resistor and the diode is to remove one end of one of them.

Good news. The new IC did the trick, plus the zener diode was shorted.
          Thanks for the great help.

Learned a ton from this repair.
          Cheers.

Lenovo ThinkBook 15 G2 ITL, some little signs of life
            by davidk35
            Hi,

So i got above mentioned laptop. Which shows only some little signs of life.
When i turn it on, 3 buttons lit up and stays like that forever (ESC, Caps Lock and Num Lock), they dont blink, they are just lit all the time. Fan does not spin, and there isnt any heat from CPU.
            What ive already done:
-Flashed both bios chips 16 and 8 mb.
-Tried adding another stick of ram
            -Check if backlight is faulty.

            So any ideas?
            Thank you

Trying to Save - Samsung 65" The Frame (QN65LS03B) with no signs of life (One Connect Box)
            by KYBOSH
I picked this one up today.
Previous owner says no signs of life.
TV looks immaculate and its a 2022 model year so I thought maybe the one connect cable was damaged.
Got it home and put it on the Kill-A-Watt power meter and it was completely dead.

The TV model is QN65LS03BAFXZA - version: CB06
            The One Connect Box BN44-01066D / BN96-54788Q / BN39-02470A.

I immediately remembered EazyBone's Samsung The Frame TV no power....One Connect thread and am preparing myself to tear the One Connect open and hunt for dead parts.

            Will keep you all...

Dell Vostro 3501 - no signs of life after BIOS read
            by someonenotyou
            Hi.

I have a laptop Dell Vostro 3501 which did not POST. When connected to power supply and turn it on, the keyboard backlight would turn on but nothing else. Sometimes there was 1 BEEP code indicating problems with BIOS.

Then I disassembled it to read the BIOS chips. It had 2 - 64mbit and 128mbit. I connected CH341A (with 3.3v mod) to both of the chips (still soldered on main board) and read them.

After I reassembled laptop back and tried to turn it on. Now there is no sign of life. Not even keyboard backlight.

Then I took the motherboard out...

hello, i have a problem with HP EliteBook 850 G5
shoring no signs of life. led near charging port and on/off button are off.
board it taking just a few mA..i think it was 10mA

i measured some things but i don´t find anything

the ACOK ? pin 24 FRWPG (pin 24) am ISL9538h is low with 0V
            but i dont know why

i cant really understand what the mosfets in the pictures are doing for crazy things.
i measuered voltage on coils....but now on mosfets near the coils too and they all had more than 10v i think one was there with 8v or something....so...

Trying to Save - Samsung UN40MU6300 - No Signs of Life
            by KYBOSH
            Picked this one up today.

No signs of life whatsoever. No red led light from the IR module.

Disconnected the mainboard to see if PSU was working and it was (LED backlights lit up).

Checked the power button for continuity when buttons were pressed and I got readings.
Disconnected various components (speaker, wifi module) with no difference.

Checked mainboard's fuses (found 3) and they were all good.
I looked on shopjimmy to see what components I may have been missing and I saw that they were selling EEPROMs.

            Then it dawned...
