Please, could someone explain how to edit the UEFI/BIOS image? I wll go read the BIOS guides and resources but i see too many posts asking to fix theyr bios and then they need to post serial number sticker.
I have an Asus X512DK that i think is bootlooping after the bios itself can show something. If i connect the power charger the system goes right away to powerup all voltages (all seem ok) and the CPU is heating a lot (executing the bios code i think) and the LCD screen is power-cycling (darkens). By the symtoms i think this is a BIOS corruption.
Best regards.Last edited by boneco69; 06-25-2025, 03:23 AM.Comment

Escuse me because of delay (work in school and the time flyes away... by the way this is from a student laptop that i am trying to help).
So the sticker and the original BIOS dump is attached.
In the previous post i tought that the model was DK and then scanning the QRCode (attached) i saw that this is in fact DA model. I was wrong because of the thermal design : there are two metal plaques screewed at the mainboard - one for CPU and one for, apparent, GPU. Now i see closely that this board uses integrated GPU in CPU package. Sorry for that misinformation.

Hi
post S/N, full name and model, motherboard model, etc.
post the contents of the bios chip even if it is corrupted..
The bios chip must be unsoldered from the board before writing or reading..
do not use the clip, you may have errors..if you do not have anything to unsolder it with,
solder wires between the programmer and the bios chip..
you need an SPI programmer...here is a video for example..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWWi...nnel=ThisIsHow

by mkdjDear all,
I have a ASUS ZenBook UX480F with the following symptoms:
I suspect it is a BIOS issue. So I decided to try to clean the ME region. I followed the guide on win-raid, and I believe I have done everything correctly. My problem is: when I open the outimage.bin in ME Analyzer, it says that it is Extracted, and not Region, Extracted as it should be. Is it normal, or did I do something not correctly? This is my first experience editing BIOS files.
I would appreciate if someone could take time to explain the issue, so that I can learn. But I would...-

by razor_amdWith ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.
For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.
I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.
This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...-

by piratiHello everyone,
I recently bought a non-working Asus Zenbook Pro Duo OLED UX8402ZA that was listed for parts only. The seller mentioned that it had no display output but that the charging lights worked.
When the laptop arrived (without a charger and SSD), I connected a charger and confirmed with a multimeter that it was charging the battery. However, when I tried to power it on, only the backlight of the secondary display came on. There was no image, and it didn’t boot into the BIOS.
I decided to try flashing a new BIOS, but since I didn’t want to desolder...-

by DynaxSCHi,
I have a serious problem to program the Z590 chipset SRAM with a Management Engine after replacing the chipset.
The new chipset is factory new and is not containing any Management Engine. Any attempts to program it into the chipset under Windows ends with a failure (eg. Error 20: Management Engine Device not present, or something similar).
Due to the lack of the ME several ports on the board, including all M.2 ports aren't working, booting OS works only on USB. So it's now other way, as to program the chipset with a ME.
Usually on ASUS boards it worked...-

by AhariHi all,
This is my first post here (I am very new to forums!) and I hope someone can help. I am looking for a full dump of the BIOS of a HP Proliant Microserver Gen 8 so that I can get this mini server running again. (BIOS version J06 2019-04-04, chip 25Q064A). I think my board was partially bricked after a failed BIOS update.
I got it second hand in this state and all the normal attempts at bios restoration have not worked. I have even desoldered the chip and tried to load the actual BIOS from HP, but it is missing some parts needed to boot the system.
I...-
