Hey everyone,
I have an HP Probook 450 G8. I currently don't have the original EC ROM backup. My model is DAX8QAMB8D0 REV. D. I am supposed to only flash the EC ROM GD25B256D chip or should I flash the SPI ROM MX25L25673G? Currently, when I press the power button, the caps lock and num lock light blink 7 times and the fan doesn't spin and the display is black. Any help is appreciatedComment

Okay, so that would be the GD25B256D? Next to that chip it says EC ROM. That one is right next to the RAM module. Sorry for the confusion, I am not sure the difference between EC ROM and SPI ROM, or which one contains the main BIOS.Comment

Unfortunately, I still have the issue with num lock and caps lock blinking 7 times when pressing the power button. I checked voltages and the EC chip is getting 3.3 volts but not the SPI Rom chip. I appreciate the help with unlocking the BIOS.Comment

First boot load bios factory defaults, save and exit and then at the next boot disable security options
You must fill your DMI manually.

I'm facing a problem with a locked bios with a password and i can't find how to remove it...
The small computer is only booting on a M2 ssd Windows partition and i get a "signed partition error" if i try to boot on the same SSD with another Os (linux for example).

Hi everyone,
I'm working on removing an administrative BIOS lock (Supervisor/Admin Password) on a laptop.
The board has three SPI flash chips:
- W25Q64FV (main BIOS)
- W25Q32FV (EC/TPM)
- W25X10CL (configuration)
I was able to read the dump from the W25Q64FV chip, CRC32 = 0x3DE23E27.
The dump contains protection that needs to be removed.
If anyone has a clean or unlocked BIOS dump for W25Q64FV, Iād really appreciate it!
Iām also happy to share my dump for comparison if needed.

The device is based on NM-F871 motherboard with Nuvoton NPCK397 series controller. The motherboard also contains three BIOS chips: two different Winbond chips for main BIOS and external EC flash, and also a Gigadevice chip which purpose I do not know. The password information is contained directly in controller and thus can be manipulated by reprogramming it, so reprogramming BIOS chips is technically not required, however you may wish to make... -
Hey guys, I have an "ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA506NF (2021)" that's locked with a UEFI password, I need to reprogram the BIOS chip but can't find a clean ".bin" file for this specific model, I've tried the official BIOS updates from ASUS support page, but they're 32MB updaters that don't extract to a usable 2MB .bin file for direct chip programming.
What I currently have available:
- Model: FA506NF (2021)
- BIOS chip: GD25LQ16 (16Mbit/2MB)
- Tools: CH341A programmer ready to use
Does anyone have either a clean 2MB .bin dump of this model,...
