seems to be a customized bios AAAC , i can`t make any update to bios..say don`t match...and at first round when say version at getac update bios software say V.... GMBH...and i can`t do any update to bios..and still same problem, after finish install windows is ok at first shut down and power up the mouse move alone...win7 works fine , problem is with 10-11 , if i modify in bios and put compatibility from win 8/10 to win 7 works fine no mouse jump...

          Hi everybody.

i found a Winbond Chip on the second PCB under the Mainboard, next to the USB-CPort. Anybody knows something about that ? is that a second BIOS Chip ?

Check the part number on top of the chip and google it, look at the datasheet, if the size is only 1MB it is probably for USB-C firmware, leave it alone.

you need an SPI programmer...here is a video for example..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWWi...nnel=ThisIsHow

It has a similar structure, the first hex character (20h=32) tells the password length or in this case the hash length (most likely SHA156), then the password or password hash follows that and at the end there's a 8-bit checksum of the block.
This thread is for Getac V110, what's your Getac model number? If you also have a V110, then it must be a newer BIOS version than the ones already posted in this thread.
I am trying to make sure I have the right hash for my bios password, so I'm wondering if I should be generating the hash from the whole entry or if I need to exclude the first hex character and the 8-bit checksum at the end. Any insight you could provide would be greatly appreciated! I don't want to waste my time trying to break the wrong hash if that makes sense.

Discard the first byte and the last byte of the variable, you will end up with 32-hex bytes. Before you try to break the sha256 password hash yourself try to search for it online, I do use cmd5.org, if it's an easy password it's free, for more complicated passwords you will have to pay 1 credit but it will tell you if they have it or not, if they don' t have it they tell you to come back in 5 days (so far they have never contacted me letting me know they found a match after a few days).

I realize this is likely not the right thread but the discussion here seems to amongst many who are familiar with V110s. I have a G5 that just died and won’t load to BIOS. Curious if anyone could point me in the right direction for replacing the socketed chip?

And I can provide all that if it helps but I know how to get the files from the Getac site using the SN but guess my question is, is it as easy as getting a new chip and USB programmer to install the files? Then just plug the new chip in on the board? Thanks for helping the noob.

Rog tracking that programmer. Can you confirm that this kit will work? Also is there a standard chip for the G5s that I should have on hand in case the installed chip can't be revived? (i haven't disassembled down to the MB yet)
