Re: HP EliteBook 845 G7 BIOS Pass
I wanted to remove the password in my hp elitebook 845 g7, but initially when I unsoldered the W25Q256JV chip (bottom), I broke a pin and I couldn't even make a backup... so I bought a new W25Q256JV chip, I programmed it with one of the bin files already modified by some user in this thread, but the laptop doesn't start and "caps lock" blinks 7 times. Any suggestions? Thank you so muchComment

HP EliteBook 845 G7 bios cleared request
hey, i'm looking for clean bios and ec dumps, i tried to flash both with files taken in a thread but the laptop won't start and caps lock blinking 7 times (I guess because they are not clean)
I don't have the original backup up because the original ec i broke it before i even read it..., so i buy another one!
Thank you so much, I'm losing my mind for this laptop!
Bios: MX25L25673

I noticed that the new EC chip I bought has a different code... W25Q256JVEM, but the original is W25Q256JVEN. Could this be the cause of the laptop blinking 7 times caps lock? ThanksComment

by STKR123Greetings badcaps community,
I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.
Im trying my best to fully describe what I plan to achieve and hope I was choosing the right sub-forum for my new adventure.
I have a Elitebook 820 G1 and a Elitebook 840 G2 here.
These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.

by WutruHi guys,
If someone would be able to provide some expertise, I'd be very grateful.
BIOS Corruption - Cause
So I managed to corrupt my machine by installing linux and enrolling custom secure boot keys. I did choose to enroll the Microsoft keys as well, to prevent any potential bricking due to 3rd party drivers from HP being signed with those keys.
After doing that, and rebooting(it did boot, powerLED, fanspin etc.), the laptop did not give any video output on the LCD or video connectors. I think I was able to get in BIOS and trigger the beeper by pressing ESC....-

by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
