Thank you. I compare it to the one I edited using HxD, and it says its the same, so I guess we edit the same thing on the file. However, already did try this and it's still asking for bios password.

Also, should I boot the laptop to bios first ? or its just fine to boot it normally, because in my case it boot normally first, and when I boot to bios its still asking for Password, and try to read the bin file again, and the hex/code revert back to stock.

    Dear all,

I'm looking for a new BIOS and EC. The notebook doesn't start most probably due to corrupt bios.
Dumps are attached. Seems like they are corrupt.

    ProdID: 8VZ07AV
    SN#: 5CG0354RNF
    BuildID: 20WWLDAT601#SUUG#DUUG

    WFM: E0-D4-E8-68-D2-FB
    BDM: E0-D4-E8-68-D2-FF

I would be very interested if someone could explain me how I can easily enter these values in. I can find them back with UEFITool, but I don't see how to edit them easily. I don't seem to find them back with HxD.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

    Cheers!

After replacing type c controller, there is no initialization. Presumably the BIOS has crashed, the laptop turns on, all voltages appear, the caps lock does not blink quickly 5 times and the fan speed starts to increase, there is no initialization. Help me clean my BIOS, I am attaching my dumps

The right BIOS Programmer - The right software (HP Elitebook 820 G1, 840 G2) no soldering, EC, DMI, ME

    Greetings badcaps community,

I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.

Im trying my best to fully describe what I plan to achieve and hope I was choosing the right sub-forum for my new adventure.

    I have a Elitebook 820 G1 and a Elitebook 840 G2 here.

These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.

    I learned that desoldering...

    🛠️ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 – No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
    by macabook
    Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
    🧩 Initial Issue
    • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
    • External display (HDMI) shows
