It actually resolved itself! That half of the screen slowly stabilized after about 4 hours. At first I also thought the capacitor I installed might have been the wrong value, but right after I reinstalled my original T-CON I already noticed a slight improvement. So I decided to wait, and now the TV image is perfect.

Good news! The replacement T-CON arrived and I tested it, but nothing changed — actually, additional purple and green vertical lines appeared. Then I remembered the first capacitor that was shorted and that I had previously removed, leaving that spot empty. I decided to put a good capacitor in that position, and now the image finally appears!
However, as you can see, there are still purple and green vertical lines overlaid on the image.
At first I thought it might be the new T-CON, but the exact same behavior occurs with the old T-CON as well.

Do you mean the R2 part? It's really weird. If you have any other ideas, even dangerous ones, don't worry. I can try them. If I have to throw it away, it's worth trying everything.

I know, I just wanted to say that I also did this other test
The TV didn't hit anything, the glass is perfect, there's not much to report, out of nowhere it was completely gone, black screen and backlight on, that's all.
I also wanted to share a photo of the upper part of the bad side, as you can see in that top half, the image is visible but it's noisy. (I hadn't noticed it before because the TV was on a table and that part was covered)...Leave a comment:

I tried to block with the tape all six CLCKxR lines as well as STVR, but there was absolutely no change in the image, still black and white stripes...

The RGB test was only appearing because the T-CON to main board connector was not fully seated. Once reconnected properly, the RGB test no longer shows and the TV boots normally and the good side of the panel works perfectly.
Honestly, I can’t find where the pin VCC is routed toward the COF on the faulty side.
I’ve attached three close up photos of the R1 section on the faulty side.

I tried that test and it doesn’t seem like any capacitor is heating up, which is quite strange. I also performed another check: I measured the same capacitors that appear shorted on the right R1 section, but on the other (working) side of the panel, meaning the left R1 section.
Interestingly, those capacitors also appear shorted when the board is connected to the T-CON, yet that half of the screen works perfectly with no visual issues....Leave a comment:

Sorry, I got confused... actually the faulty side is the right one, not the left one... the TV is placed upside down on the table, so the faulty side appears to be the left one, but in reality it's the right one... does this make any difference? Can I still do this test?

Let me explain it better.
I noticed that on the same “bad” left panel board, but on the R1 section and not on R2 (R2 is where the first shorted capacitors I found were located), there are three other smaller capacitors that also read as shorted.
I had attached a photo with those capacitors circled in a previous post, although it might not have been very clear.
However, I then noticed that the short does not originate from the panel board itself, because as soon as I disconnect the flat cable from the T-CON to the left panel board, the short on those capacitors disappe...Leave a comment:

UPDATE Davi.p I found three more shorted capacitors on the same bad side, but on R1, not R2. I'll let you know as soon as I find the shorted capacitor
