Re: ME Firmware Cleaning Guide
Hello SMDFlea,
is it possible that the bios file is defective?
With this Lenovo X1 Carbon 5th, the touchpad does not work under Windows 10 at any time.
Maybe it has something to do with the bios file.
Thank you very much

Re: ME Firmware Cleaning Guide
Scroll down the page to: C2. (CS)ME System Tools .Click on one of those tools links and it`ll take you to mega. Check back there every few months to see if there`s a newer version of the tools.
You can run into a few issues sometimes trying to open a bios with an older version of FIT than what it was built with,ME 11 and under seems to be ok,its 12 and above that can be problematic.MEAnalyzer will tell you which version of the tool it was built with, that exact version might not even be available. Ive got 3 different versions of the "Intel CSME System Tools v12" ,r10 r14 and r21 ,each one has a "Tools Version Info.txt" file with a build number for each tool. The r10 FIT version is 12.0.6.1120 ,r14 FIT version is 12.0.22.1310 and r21 FIT version is 12.0.49.1536 .
If i have a bios doesn`t open with one version i try the others,if it doesn`t open with any then its probably because the bios or ME firmware is corrupt.Leave a comment:

Re: ME Firmware Cleaning Guide
I can tell by looking at your picture that you`re trying to open a G50-70 bios with the wrong FIT version. See the attached picture the G50-70 bios opened with MEAnalyzer, the ME firmware is version 9.5 ,so you need to use FIT from the "Intel ME System Tools v9.5" .The T460s does have ME 11 ,so open it with FIT from the Intel CSME System Tools v11
.
so i need to first check me version and by that use correct FIT version?Leave a comment:

Re: ME Firmware Cleaning Guide
Ive left the bios at post #84 and added a note not to use it. This new bios cleaned with FIT looks ok to me,it has kept the original configuration.Leave a comment:

Re: ME Firmware Cleaning Guide
EDIT: Do NOT flash this bios !! . Firmware cleaned with Intel ME/TXE injector does not keep the OEM`s original ME/TXE configuration. Open this bios with Flash Image Tool (attached) and the bios at post #87 with FIT 11 (copy FIT to 2 seperate folders with each bios) and compare the differences.

Re: ME Firmware Cleaning Guide
My problem was solved. Actually FIT version really doesn't matter.
I thought that FIT will check only 8MB bios, but actually 4MB part of EC rom was missing, so it did some stupid things inside bios instead of repair it..
Thanks for hint.Leave a comment:

Re: ME Firmware Cleaning Guide
PRD_RGN is stock FW .Its recommended to always use PRD_RGN ,even if you can`t find an exact version,if there`s one thats a little bit older or a bit newer ,and has the same major and minor version its ok.Leave a comment:

Whats is difference between stock and extracted? Will stock ME work on BIOS that contains extracted?Leave a comment:

Re: ME Firmware Cleaning Guide
I think the wording on Win-Raid was due they are tired after so many years of help with not much return knowledge. Nice they found someone who could continue great job there.
I have problem with my bios i described here in post #10
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=70264
ME don't show it, but im sure this is corporate version (business laptop with Win 8 pro for government district) 5mb, but final size after FIT showed in ME analyzer is unproper, even i change 1vs1 ME prd_rgn (found exactyle same numbers in repository).
The idea was to try older FIT and check what will happen. Laptop works on bios from same working unit, but with 15s delay, as typical for ME.
I read that US Army made big order for PC's but completely without Me region. This would be interesting how they switched it of completelly..Leave a comment:

Re: ME Firmware Cleaning Guide
It doesn`t matter which FIT version 10 you use, what does is the firmware you give it. There is corporate and consumer, check your bios backup using MEAnalyzer it will tell you which one you have.Leave a comment:

Re: ME Firmware Cleaning Guide
Yes i know that now,but at the time of the announcement it appeared that way. @plutomaniac ,the owner of the site and the author of the ME cleaning guide said that the announcement was poorly worded. I`m happy they`re still aroundLeave a comment:

by SMDFleaIf you have to clean the ME firmware on **some microsoft surface models the touchscreen can stop working.
** Some models do not need this fix.
*You should install the latest updates from microsoft, including the driver packs before assuming there is a hardware problem.* - See Post #2
EDIT: If nothing else works try this fix - https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...8&postcount=40
Always check a working dump from the same model using FIT.If the working dump default setting for "Integrated Sensor Hub Supported" is set to "NO"...-

by gurj1979Hi guys.
I've got a Ubiquiti US-8-150W POE switch which has issues with updating the firmware.
Turned out to be a bad EEPROM chip. It would read the firmware and work as normal, but failed to write new firmware to it.
So I took off the chip and read on EEPROM and saved it. Wrote to old chip and failed to write
Got New chip and writes good.
THE PROBLEM...
It fails to fully load the firmware, POE lights fail to work during g firmware test during load. I'm suspecting bad EEPROM Read.
Does anyone have a Good Firmware I can have?...-

by wattageHello Badcaps Community,
I purchased a preowned AOC monitor that is not working and out of warranty. It was sold as not working. I am looking for guidance on self-repair. In particular, I am after the firmware for the monitor. At the end, I have included monitor model information and links to pics and vids of the issue.
The problem is that it will not display a picture on any of its inputs. And the on-screen menu does not appear. The power button works properly. It powers on with the remote as well. But the on-screen menu does not appear, even when not connected to any...-
