I've cleaned my ME as described and I am wondering if I did it right.
Before cleaning: ME Analyzer shows Chipset as SPT-H D
After cleaning KBP/BSF/GCF-H A SPT-H D
Is that an expected output or did I screw something up?
TLDR:
Replaced HP ZBook 17 G3 motherboard (new), added SN/Model/Board/Build/Featurebyte, locked MPM and ended up with "Warning...not in commited state". I believe I forgot to make some ME settings.
Upgraded BIOS and ME firmware to latest version. Then I...

Re: HP DMI Tool NBDmiFit
I have a question regarding HP Elitebook/ZBook G3 mainboard replacement and DMI data:
If I had dumped my bios from the bad motherboard with a SPI programmer, could I simply flash it to the new board? Would this make DMI editing unnecessary and I would be able to keep my integrated Windows license? What would happen to the MAC-ID?

Re: ZBook 15 bios dump
You Sir are a genius! Flashed the image - "not committed state" was gone right away - MPM was unlocked and locked itself. Runs perfect!
You have used flash image tool to clean ME?
Thank you!...

Re: ZBook 15 bios dump
Im a step further: I replaced the BIOS REGION with one from stock HP update which results in a MPM unlock - BUT on first boot I receive the message that "EC mismatch with configuration - going to restore system information"... any ideas?

Re: ZBook 15 bios dump
Are you sure? System shows me L70 Ver. 1.44 which is also listed as latest on HP website. Did I misunderstand you?...

Re: ZBook 15 bios dump
Hey SMDFlea,
thanks for your help. I was able to pull a backup using flashrom and a CH341A + Clip. I was able to erase/flash the chip again and works as expected. Dump is attached.
As this dump is okay, do you have any advice how to unlock MPM? I have replaced my board, set DMI info, locked MPM, BUT forgot to set intel AMT. Machine is now in committed state.
Is it possible to pull the ME region from a different file to my dump or will I brick the whole thing? ...Last edited by ZBooker; 01-02-2019, 07:03 AM.

ZBook 15 bios dump
Hey,
I've made a new bios dump of ZBook 15 with CH341A programmer but only software v1.18 was able to verify it....v1.29,30,34 all fail.
Can someone tell me if dump is ok or corrupted?
Thanks!

Re: ZBook 15 G1 Bios (not commited state)
Hey imranromi,
thank you for your post and excuse my late reply.
I have a CH341A programmer. I ve tried to read bios using programmer Version 1.18, 1.29 and 1.40 but it wont even recognize the winbond chip (25Q128FVSQ). I have no idea why it does not work. Removed RAM, HDD, DVD, unplugged front LEDs, Card Reader, main battery and cmos battery.
Any hints?
Regards

ZBook 15 G1 Bios (not commited state)
Hey there,
I've replaced Motherboard and CPU of my HP ZBook 15 G1.
Board Partnumber is 734304-001, CPU is i7-4710mq, GFX Quadro K1100m. (CPU used to be 4800mq)
I set Serial, Board-CT and SKU with Nbdmifit and locked bios.
Now I receive "machine is not in commited state". What's the reason for that message?
I've tried to unlock MPM using BiosConfigUtility64 but it will not work.
Any hints how to fix? Do I need SMC.bin?
Thanks
Markus
