Resolved myself - 1st replacement ITE KBC chip was a little bad. Swapped out again and works fine.
BUT - Noticed a different issue.
I have tried the Armory Crate GPU Power options - but it doesn't help.
GPU is still not showing up in Device Manager - Show Hidden shows no Nvidia.
Tried to install Nvidia drivers, but it says there is no Nvidia card detected.

Powers supply / chargers isn't the issue.
It wont turn on from battery when button is pressed.

Asus ROG GA401QE (Ryzen 9)- weird issue
Hi guys,
I have pretty much just finished repairing this laptop after 3v rail shorted around 8 components.
Now I have the machine booted up with all voltages present.
Display etc etc works, I can get to BIOS without issues.
BUT - the problem is this.
Battery connected and is healthy. Wont turn on unless charger is connected.
Then I can remove the charger and it will continue to run from battery.
But if I turn off the laptop, it wont boot from battery. Have to stick in the charger again to trigger it.
All MOSFETs are good,... -

Thanks for the replies. But the white marking around it suggests it's not QFN, more like a 12pin IC (6pins on top, and 6 pins on the bottom). Where the white Notch on the left indicates Pin 1 is on that side.
I'll try remove the IC when I get a chance. Probably Tuesday due to Easter Weekend & Bank Holiday Monday.Leave a comment:

It's located right next to the USB ports.

Surface Laptop 1769 SSD Failed KUS040202M-B000
Hey guys,
I've got a Surface Laptop 1769 (the nasty cloth type palmrest) which has a failed 512GB Samsung PM971 (KUS040202M-B000).
These are on BGA291, but I don't know which is equivalent to KUS040202M-B000.
AliExpress has this but it's expensive.
Can anyone help me find a reasonably prices equivalent which I can use as a replacement ?
Or which NVMe can I remove it from ? -

Got an issue with XPS 15 9510 where the Dell Logo starts, then goes dim and eventually turns off.
I can't even do F2 or F12.

MSI GP62MVR-7RF - weird fan / thermal issue
Hey guys, I need help with my personal MSI GP62MVR-7RF. Annoying fan / thermal issue.
Machine Idle. Fan will spin medium speed for 4 seconds, then off for 1 second. Repeat forever.
CPU and GPU are cold. No load, just sitting doing nothing.
It's clean inside, nothing blocked. New MX4 paste.
Updated BIOS, EC, and VBIOS but nothing's helped.
Schematic shows 2 thermal resistors, but they're OK.
All thermal signals are good, inc PCH.
Has anyone ever come across this ? Any idea what to do ?
Could it be a faulty CPU / PCH / KBC ? I REALLY don't want...
