          Hi all,

so I have T480s for whitch I've dumped the bios with NeoProgrammer and used autopatcher to patch the bios (to remove password).
Now the issue is that when turning on with patched or original bios power button flashes once and cooler spince for a second then stops, no other sign of life only cooler spining for a second every couple of seconds (no sounds, no lights - nothing else).

          Type: 20L8-A01RUK
          S/N: PC-10AERO 18/12

I'm attaching original (dumped) bios and the patched one. Please help - advise.
          Thank you.

I think you should try CLEAR ME , i had the same as you on a T450, i cleared the management engine, reloaded my original bios once done and I could acces it again (without pswd as it was already autopatched)

                  Hi,

thank you. I might be doing something wrong as it's still the same. Did I needed to do anything before flashing the BIOS attached?
What I did now is just used NeoProgrammer to Write IC (with all options checked except Blank Check). CMOS battery and main battery were disconnected. Did I needed to remove SSD, hold the the intrusion button(or how it's called) on the motherboard pressed?
As before is same now, power button lights up for a second, and then no other sign of life except cooler spining every few seconds.

Thank you for your assistance. I believe one of the forum members did everything and attached a file for me, but it didn't work, might be that I'm missing something.

I'm starting to believe that there will be something fried on the motherboard during BIOS chip read/write process. After searching the forum it appears it's not so hard to damage/fry components when the clip is used to connect to the BIOS chip and with my "luck" that might be the issue. I'll try to see if I'll be able to check few of them with the multimeter I've got as I can't believe anymore that it could be an issue with the BIOS after you guys helped me even with providing a file.

Before investigating that way, can you boot on usb?

if not, just leave your computer without any power source and remove the bios battery for some hours , also push the bios reset button on the mb (if there is one, but this is not a tamper one related to hardware intrusion ) for 20-30 seconds, and the power button too if you did not take the mb out.

I did this (one day without power) then i just reconnected the power supply and i had it solved. Then i could reset the bios to default setup and i mounted back everything with a new ssd (bc i discovered i had computrace activated - no idea how - and it was blocking the os).

Also be sure you have loaded back your original dump before doing anything: it was not clear to me but i discovered the patched files purpose were only for one time use, then rolling back to the original dump was required.

yeah, me too i've spent some days on this

I can't boot from USB, they are disabled via BIOS
I''ll try to do what you said, it will take some time as need find free time for it, but will definetely report back
Thank you once again for your assistance.

Unfortunately I did damaged the motherboard. 2 components are broken (capacitors if I'm not wrong), and they are very small, so without micro soldering, the board is good for a rubbish bin only...
I have attached a picture (not mine), circled in red are the 2 components which are now missing...

Thank you everyone for the assistance, unfortunately I'll stop here as I have no chance to solder such a small components.

Ouchhh...yes better to buy a second hand then. If Aliexpress, avoid Akemy, cheap but definitely not trustable.

As lessons have to be learned, better previosuly ask for the card to be checked for a bios without password and computrace not activated

KYD motherboard Store was the most reponsive on this.

Probably 33 Ohm resistors. Buy some they`re very cheap or get them from a scrap board. Temperature adjustable soldering irons are cheap too, you can get a kit with the iron, tips and solder for about 10-15 euros.

Excuse me, can you remove the password for the Lenovo Yoga 11e laptop? I've flashed it several times but the password is still there. The motherboard code is DALI8KMB8D0

                                            by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
                                            Some issues
                                            A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

                                            Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                                            Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

                                            Hi everyone,

I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.

I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.

After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.

I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...
